The penalty he took in regulation was also terrible

But he did okay for how many minutes he played and being that it is the first game of the season.

Overall, I'm somewhat disappointed, but looking forward to Florida on Monday.

he did jump forward offensively really well. I expect improvement in the regular season as him and Hamhuis get used to each other.

Sometimes I wonder how much gripes against Bieska are actually valid, just because he's under CDC's microscope. Any flaw is magnified a thousand times.

It is not my intent to get in circular arguments with anybody. The reason i have avoided saying anything specific is because i know you or someone else will attempt to find an alternate explanation to my points which i intern will have to defend. I see no point in getting involved with the circular argument that is already well under way in this thread. I simply intended to voice my opinion on the subject. In the end either you accept the possibility of corruption and conspiracy or you don't.

Also i find your comments to be very childish. Does taking what i say out of context, paraphrasing and misquoting it make you feel good about yourself? Grow up.

Seriously -_-

I thought KB had a fairly solid game out there tonight. Yes, that penalty was stupid (was a weak call to make to begin with) but he was NOT terrible. But he is the CDC scapegoat so really I should expect nothing less.

I don't like he plays so casually .. carries the puck casually, plays defense casually.

Very true. I think the biggest negative factor with him are the penalties, but right now that seems to be the case with the team in general. I'll admit that I was thinking he would be traded in the summer but that was more of a value point rather than him being a "bad" player like a lot of people seem to think. I've never completely thought of him as being a waste of a spot or anything. He can still use up minutes which is important.

Polarizing. Some say he was good, others say he was not.

I thought he was decent. Not outstanding. A few good hits and some nice passes, but also a few turnovers and needless penalties.

Could've been better, but could've been much worse.

Agreed. People are able to look over the stupid penalty that Kesler took because he's Kesler, but every little thing that Bieksa does is questionable. The media, especially TEAM 1040, blows things up WAY too much! I'm not saying Bieksa has been solid over the last few years, but he's been playing alright minus some stupid plays.

Over the last few years on CDC, I've seen Naslund, Pyatt, Bernier, Raymond, Bieksa, all scrutinized.. and the only thing I can say is, media attention is only bad. The only places that I can think of that has it as bad as Vancouver or more is Toronto and Montreal.

(Jesse Canuck @ May 10 2009, 12:57 AM) IM SO frackIN SICK OF THIS crap.
This is the last Canucks game I watch. Goodbye. nice run, frack you.

^Please stay away from watching Canucks forever. Goodbye.

Anyone who signs Mitchell for anything more 2 Mil would be a total moron. He has had a MAJOR concussion and is very likely still not 100%. Not to mention that he has a history of concussions. He shouldn't be playing hockey let alone signing a big contract.

^Shows how much you know :)

Not surprised the 'haters' fail to point out his quality first passes out of the zone, some chances he created by simply tossing the puck at the net as well as his physicality; definitely the most physical from perhaps Ballard.

So many people are sheep and don't understand hockey thoroughly to begin with.

Someone that seems like they know what they're talking about bad mouths another player and the sheep follow suit. As further proved by the names you mentioned above. All of those guys did NOT deserve nearly as much scrutiny as they got.

When a player is paid nearly 4 million dollars a year and it's a credit to him that he was average at best, that's a fail. The only notable thing he did in tonight's game was take two stupid penalties, one of which was in overtime. That's not what you want out of a highly paid d-man. Hmmmm, what was the problem with O'Brien? Oh yeah, undisciplined....and at half the price....
