NAILED-BY-THE-HAMMER
<br />Man. The NW division is weak!<img src='/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif">http://forum.canucks.com/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <br /><br />Right now, it is actually easier for the Canucks to clinch the NW title than to secure the 8th place in Western conference! <img src='/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif">http://forum.canucks.com/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /><br />
NAILED-BY-THE-HAMMER
<br />If you look at the very top it says the following<br /><br />Vancouver Canucks Playoff Chances<br />Beat Flames 4-3, playoff odds up <b>0.0 to 99.999999%</b><br />99 points 45-16-9<br />Add your own league!<br /><br />Thus as I said previously he is rounding and there is still at least one possible scenario where the Canucks do not make the playoffs. <br /><br />in 2006/2007 season the 8th place team in the west had 96 points<br />
Garrett-6
they dident clinch if my math is right lol they will need at least 2-3 more wins before they clinch assumeing the 9th place team loses
taib mahmud
Have the Canucks broken the record for staying longest as #1 in regular season? Feels like an eternity.

BCCaper
I don't understand what people are worrying about, we're as good as in... Enough with the simulators just watch the damn games and let it unfold naturally. We have a comfortable lead, we will clinch a playoff spot soon enough. Hobble
It is just as unlikely for the Canucks to lose all of their remaining games, as it is for Nashville to win all of their remaining games...
Kent.S
Dumb iPhone for posting early... Whatever, I was saying that are you guys actually serious about the preds, flames, coyotes, and the kings all taking us out of a play off spot? It's impossible for them to win every remainig game preds play like 5 games against the top 9 teams same, the ducks play 12 more, coyotes play 8, Calgary 7. That's 30 games... 60 points they have to divide. Good post op
Average Joe
The only way Canucks can clinch is to win first in their division with Calgary and Minnesota unable to catch us. Which means 1 win against the wild with Calgary lost or Win 2 in the roll. Canucks cannot drop to 10th unless Calgary went on fire and win all and we lose all. This is like Washington jumping from 9th to 3rd in 2007-2008 season.

vwnuck
no i would say we have to hit 105 point before we have clinch. there is the totaly insane chance that we lose every game from now on, (which we actually did the year edmonton made it to the final) and the 9th place team wins ever single game they have left.. DhillonCanuck
Cmon guys the lowest spot the Canucks can get is 3rd because they are division leaders.

Ben Kenobi
This seems plausible until you take into account that these teams play each other and only one of the two teams can get a full two points in these games. It would take a lot of math to see if it's true that we've clinched, but it makes sense.
Burntoast
Nice that chart is really interesting. Only 10.5 wins to beat out Philadelphia now! Only 9 wins to clinch Western Conference!

Where's Wellwood
Who? The OP? I think he's right... In order for us to fall out of a playoff spot, we need 8 out of a possible 11 teams to pass us. This seems plausible until you take into account that these teams play each other and only one of the two teams can get a full two points in these games. It would take a lot of math to see if it's true that we've clinched, but it makes sense. It's sad that some people are this ignorant. +1 to the OP for pointing this out.
