JamesTW Posted February 20, 2011 Share Posted February 20, 2011 I just did a little calculation for fun what if the Canucks played in the east and the Flyers played in the west. If Philly played 43 games against the west so far they would have a record of 20-14-9 and in their 15 games against the east they would have a record of 11-3-1 for an overall record of 31-17-10. The Canucks on the other hand would have a record of 30-9-6 in their 45 games against the east and a record of 9-3-3 in 15 games against the west for an overall record of 39-12-9. I think this just goes to show how much of an advantage the Flyers get by playing in the eastern conference, while in contrast the Canucks would benefit little from playing in the east as they are consistently dominant over both conferences.
