Olympic Host Cities/Stanley Cup Winners

In 1980, it was once again held in Lake Placid New York, and the following season (1980-81) was the year that the New York Islanders brought home Lord Stanley.
In 1988, Calgary was host to the Winter Olympics, and.... you guessed it, the following season was when the Flames won the cup (1988-89)
In 2010, we all saw Vancouver play host to the Winter Games.... given how well the Canucks are doing this year, and how they are a definite cup contender, it would sure be strange to see Vancouver finally win the Cup. Pretty weird coincidences don't ya think?

So I am going camping with my girlfriend and a couple friends in a few days. Now, I know my girlfriend will want to play on the playground quite a few times each day, and we are going for 3 days. However, we will be drinking liquor during these three days, and it might make it hard for myself to play on the playground. That's not the worry though, the worry is, how do I stay on the playground for a respectable amount of time? I've heard from some male friends that liquor makes it easier to stay on the playground longer, but getting to the playground may come sooner than expected. So what are some things I can do to make sure that be-fore playing and the actual playing on the playground doesn't end too soon?

The only team that have the Olympic and didn't win the Cup:
1984 Summer Olympic City Host: Los Angeles
Los Angeles Kings at that time from 1984 to 1986 didn't win the cup
Here something really interesting:
Salt Lake City 2002
The nearest NHL team from the Winter Olympic's host city is Colorado Avalanche and they won the Stanley Cup just about 8 months before the Winter Olympic.
Pretty trippy... eh?

Come on now guys, we are going to win because we are kicking ass this year not cause we hosted the olympics

Squaw valley, and Salt Lake City don't have NHL franchises, and Atlanta didn't have one at that time so it would be impossible for them.
So out of the places that had a franchise there when they hosted, it's more like 4/5.

Does anyone in this thread realize Lake Placid is a good 5 hour drive from New York city? New York is hardly a host city. Montreal is closer to Lake Placid than NY.
