well post your own roster then

alright, alright by virtue of having won the last time as starter, i will edit it. i think fleury will surpass luongo in the coming years in the league though.

Mārtiņš Cipulis - Jānis Sprukts - Mārtiņš Karsums
Kaspars Daugaviņš - Herberts Vasiļjevs - Aleksandrs Ņiživijs
Lauris Dārziņš - Armands Bērziņš - Andris Džeriņš
Gints Meija - Miķelis Rēdlihs - Ainārs Podziņš
Raimonds Vilkoits
Juris Upītis
*Zemgus Girgensons

*If Girgensons keeps at this pace, I would easily add him to the line-up over one of the older players. He is clearly becoming one of Latvia's greatest players

Arvīds Reķis - Oskars Bārtulis
Guntis Galviņš - Kristaps Sotnieks
Krišjānis Rēdlihs - Jēkabs Rēdlihs
Ēriks Ševčenko

Edgars Masaļskis
Edgars Lūsiņš
Mārtiņš Raitums
*Kristers Gudļevskis

*Same as Girgensons, if he keeps up his level of play I would take him over Lūsiņš or Raitums and could easily push Masaļskis for the starting job.

What is with all the Jordon Staal love on here?

the guy has never had more than 50pts in a season in his entire carrer and there are many better Canadian two-way centres then him.
M. Richards, B. Richards, Toews, Sharp, Fisher, Bergeron, hell even Logan Couture has more potential then Staal since we are looking ahead to 2014.

I think Luongo will be traded to Ottawa for 5th round pick + cash considerations, before the trade dealine.

Can't be surprised. Skill wise Luongo is debatably the least talented goalie in the NHL. He should be playing in a lower division somewhere in Europe (div. II or III).

It's a shame that the Twins will never have an elite winger to play with because we've spent that money on a no-win goalie.

luongo will have played his way back to florida by the time the christmas break rolls around.

This is why we can't have nice things...

I'm surprised people are mentioning Taylor Hall. I mean, he's going to be a great player someday, but I doubt he'll be good enough to be on Team Canada.

Nash - Crosby - Stamkos
Heatley - Getzlaf - Perry
Sharp - Toews - E.Staal
Carter - M.Richards - Iginla
Giroux

Weber - Keith
Doughty - Letang
Seabrook - Myers
Green

fair enough please educate me. Tell me why Jordon Staal is a better "grinder" than all those players on that list.
What in your opinion makes a good grinder? blocked shots? hits? Overall points? plus/minus? Pk points? take aways? Please define why Jordon "overrated after a good rookie season" Staal is a good grinder in your opinion.

Oh and thanks for the minus

Jordon Staal is not considered a "Grinder". He's one of the best two way players in the game and can be used in any situation, which is vital to have in the Olympic tournament. He has been injured basicly all year so it's not fair to call him over-rated. He is 22 years old and hasn't reached his full potential yet.

I wonder how good Jeff Skinner will be by 2014..interesting how no one had brought him up yet....I see this kid as being a 40-50 goal scorer in his prime!

He and Staal are gonna be scary good together in the near future! Quote me on it

This, only with Richards instead of Bergeron. Eberle and Pietrangelo are musts.
And why is Heatly showing up on some of your rosters?

Pretty solid lineup, though keeping Iginla, who in two years will be 37, does not seem to be a very wise choice for a roster selection. By 2014 Seguin should already be established within the league so I don't see him getting bumped out by someone like Jarome. If that indeed is the case I would also include Jamie Benn for Olympic roster consideration.

If Crosby's out, my forward group would be

Stamkos - Giroux - Perry
Nash - Tavares - Eberle
Benn - Toews - Seguin (Tyler could probably contend for Top 6 minutes with this team in two years)
M. RIchards - J. Staal - Bergeron (shutdown group)
Henrique

My dark horse would be Adam Henrique, he steps up when the stakes get high, is VERY clutch and I hope he gets a chance esp. if Crosby doesn't make it due to health issues.
