OMG Earthquake?

Recommended Posts

as far as i now 8.9 and then a 7.1 aftershock.

can someone else confirm this?

8.9 is definitely confirmed.

I heard about a 7.1 aftershock on CNN but not confirmed as of yet. Wouldn't be surprised since they're still experiencing aftershocks.

OMG...Wow...that is scary stuff.. That wave just swallowed up a lot of people....This is going to be casualties in the tens if not hundreds of thousands...

No, Japan has tons of tsunamis, they're far more prepared than the countries that were hit in 2004 and this earthquake is a lot weaker than the one that happened in 2004 and is only really affecting one area.

Watching the news with my family right now. The videos are just...I don't have words. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Japan.

My heart goes out to the people of Japan.

This is making me nervous about my trip to the Philippines at the end of the month..

Oh my goodness. Japan has several nuclear power facilities as well. That would be absolutely devastating if any material leaked out.

West Coast has been issued a tsunami watch, and I believe a warning now too.

It should reach the West Coast in about 9 hours.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a few thousand deaths in the random footage already being televised. While I wish you were correct. It would appear you are not.
