So you’re the boss of all of these players and coaches, you knew that there was a culture issue, and you did nothing? Way to take ownership and accepting the fact that your vision failed. Everyone likes someone who acknowledges making mistakes and making things right again. Bob has shown us he can’t lead or take any blame for this. That’s all I will say about this and hope for change from the top down. Maybe he was hoping this wouldn't come out into the fan/public base. Good for Waston for telling it like it is.

Now they are both gone and both left probably due to the front office (contract dispute with Parker, and Two faced direction by Bob to Watson). I don’t blame Kendall to want to get out of the dysfunctional mess. But he was our Chara and those sadly don’t come around all that often. Gurn
Waston was/is a poor captain, he allowed his temper and ego to get in the way in more than a couple of matches this year, drawing yellow and red cards. Hardly leadership calibre and I am happy to see him go.

Zidane, Roy Keane, Sergio Ramos (who I personally think is overrated but he has the trophies to back it up), Daniele De Rossi, Patrick Veira. I could go on.

Badly timed red cards are not a sign of good captains though. Whiney get me out of here attitudes and statements are also not a sign of good captaincy
MJDDawg
Knowing what we know now, this kinda puts Camillo in a whole different light does it not?
bishopshodan
I don't even know what to say. How did they let it get this bad? RIP Whitecaps. Not paying Camillo his much deserved dollars was a HUGE mistake. Now we get a young Canadian superstar, and he heads off to Europe. Maybe the league itself is doomed? We can't keep the young star players, so we end up with not very good younger guys, and older guys, who are (mostly) only playing for the money. No wonder there are locker-room problems. I bet there are a lot of MLS teams with locker-room problems. There are likely a lot of older guys making too much money, while the younger guys (who are actually fighting for their teams) are paid (relative) peanuts. 1

They were talking about this on the radio. The locker room issue being the wage gaps, not so much that bad attitudes/guys are in the room. We need some popular names to stick around. It's hard to swallow switching out so many players in an off season. How do you sell that to younger fans? I grew up always picking a favorite player or two on the teams I liked. I know we can't keep everyone but I would like some consistency in the line up.

That’s just it, I’ve had a Whitecaps kit since the 2011 season but have never put a name or number on the back because of the amount of turnover this team has year in and year out. How do you invest into a team that changes more than a seasonal coat? Aside from Harvey (gone now) Tibert and Hurtado we haven’t had a steady core stick around with this team. Watson is another one who’s been around but again he will be gone. Like you said you can’t keep everyone but when you build a team, you try and keep your core pieces intact.

They can enjoy counting it in an empty BC place. My wife does some dealings with Kerfoot through her work. She says he is very nice, even brings them apples from his orchard. Maybe he can sell the team, get even more money and buy more apple trees? I sure could use a cider instead of what I've been buying from him. 1

Lancaster
Is this due to the lack of leadership on the pitch? The quality of the type of players in the locker room? Issues stemming from management? When did the culture become so toxic? The only way I can think of having everyone on the same page is if the Caps somehow get some real big superstar with captaincy experience. In short... the Whitecaps will be screwed for the next few seasons.

No real superstar will come to play for this team as long as they play on that concrete slab downtown. Not the fault of the owners, but it's a reality. Quite frankly though, this teams' owners are content to sell out the lower bowl and role the dice on making the playoffs every season.
