mmmmmm, the thought of them all reaching their potential and playing together makes me feel all warm inside.

Me too. It might be a long time before that happens though. With Gillis' patience Labate will probably spend 3-4 years in college, Jensen might play another year in the OHL & then a full one in the AHL & Kassian will probably be on the 3rd line to start next year a la Cody Hodgson this year.

Not that I am complaining, it is awesome that GMMG has the power to develop players this way.

15 assists & 20 points in 37 games as a WCHA rookie. 6'4/195 pounds. 18 years old.

Jensen - Labate - Kassian. Big.

6'4" 204*lbs. Bigger.

He'll probably put on another 15 lbs this summer too, like he did last year. :bigblush:

Didn't know that!

By the time he's in the NHL he'll probably be 210-220, Jensen will probably be 6'3, 215 pounds and Kassian can probably add another 5-10 pounds this year and be 6'3/215-220 pounds.

If that line ever happened it would probably be a combined 655 pounds & 18'10 inches!

Compare that to the Canucks' arguably strongest line right now which is (Higgins - Kesler - Booth) @ 620 pounds and 18'2.

Okay... back down to earth..

Hopefully he can step up the next few games.

Knowing they can win might give them some extra confidence to play with.

Well, he did put up 3 assists in game #4.

Kassian.... Taylor Pyatt 3.0

Lies. He's more of a Steve Bernier. Hopefully his talent level goes up so he can become like a Taylor Pyatt.

Awesome!!
That's great to hear.

Talking about drafting smart this summer I totally forgot about Labate that's already in our system.

If we are patient with everyone and they all reach their ideal potential......

Jensen was on the ice for the PP goal & only goal so far for Oshawa but didn't not garner a point.

2nd intermission, 1-1.

C'mon Gens!

So it looks like Jensen's season is over.

I wonder if he'll be joining the Wolves now. I would imagine he will be since Corrado and Cannata are joining them too.

Boone Jenner, Andy Andreoff, Julian Melchiori, Nicklas Jensen, and Christian Thomas are off to join their respective American Hockey Leagues clubs.

Jenner will play for the Springfield Falcons who currently sit 11th in the AHL’s Eastern Conference with 5 games remaining. Andreoff will be joining the Manchester Monarchs who are in 8th place in the East, in the final playoff position. Melchiori is going to the 2nd place St. John’s IceCaps who have clinched the Atlantic Division title. Jensen joins the Chicago Wolves in 3rd place in the West. Thomas is headed for the Connecticut Whale who hold 6th in the East.

can't wait to see how he performs, apparently he's waiting on the paperwork right now, and should join the wolves later this week. if he gets there by Friday, then he'll be there for 6 games before the post season. I'm not sure if they'll hold him off to get some practice time with the team before stepping in or not.

Wolves dressed 7 dmen in their last game (result of the Bitz callup maybe?) so there looks to be room for Jensen to get in a few games. I'm excited to see how he does.

The Vancouver Canucks have assigned right wing Nicklas Jensen (NIHK-luhs YEHN-suhn) to the Chicago Wolves.

JENSEN completed his second Ontario Hockey League season on April 1 when the Oshawa Generals were defeated, 4-games-to-2, by the Niagara IceDogs in the first round of the OHL’s Eastern Conference Championship. He recorded 4 assists and 5 points in six postseason games.

The 19-year-old forward ranked third among Oshawa skaters with 25 goals and shared third on the team with 58 points in 57 regular-season contests. He also ranked second on the Generals with a career-best 33 assists.

The Herning, Denmark, native was the Vancouver Canucks first choice, 29th overall, in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft after he recorded 29 goals, 29 assists and 58 points in 61 games with Oshawa last year en route to being named to the 2011 OHL All-Rookie Team.

Overall, JENSEN amassed 54 goals, 62 assists, and 116 points in 118 career OHL games with Oshawa spanning two seasons (2010-12).

The Wolves continue their season-high seven-game road trip when they visit the Houston Aeros at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Toyota Center.
