Snipe show, but too much room and time left for him to bury it.

Would like to see what he's capable of with very little time and space since most NHL defensemen are much better at gap control than whoever was up against him.

@coreypronman #Canucks Jensen logged 16:49 today, 3rd amongst AIK forwards. Very small sample, but leads AIK in scoring (only team in SEL that's winless).

2-4 loss today. No points for Jensen from what I can tell despite some early chances.

Judging by him getting 16 minutes a game, he's not a 3rd liner

He plays on the third line, but gets ample opportunities on both PP and PK, that's why he plays so much. They need to put him officially on the 1st or 2nd line.

No points for Jensen again and another loss for his team...

Man, his team isn`t looking too good. They haven`t won a game yet.

Why didn`t he go to Modo and play under Naslund again? They've got a good veteran team that he could have learned alot from.

in the SEL playing time is very hard to come-by for a young player, perhaps AIK had much less depth (seemingly true as they are in last) and thus offered Jensen the best opportunity to play a bigger role.

Playing for Denmark his team sucked and now this team sucks, hopefully when he makes Vancouver he thrives off playing on a winning team for once. :P

Yea that's what I'm thinking.

At this rate he'll be on the first line in no time.

It's still good to have your prospects be part of winning clubs and learning what it takes to win though.

Its a balance... Is it better for a first round draft pick to play a spot 4th line role on the Red Wings or center the first line on the Oilers?

Depending on the draft position of the pick and the age, as well as the league it could be either. For Nicklas Jensen as a late pick, although being very skilled, and only 19 I would rather have him play a 3rd line role on a contending team (like the Canucks ;) ) than a top line position on a bottom-feeder team for developmental reasons, so he can be eased into the NHL and not have to be relied on too heavily for scoring. Whereas, in the SEL I prefer him to be on a top line for a bottom feeder team because the league is the correct level for him at this point in his development and him learning what it's like to be relied on but not having it so difficult as to cause great stress will be beneficial. I would like it more though if AIK would just give him the 1st line spot, so he's not struggling with third line wingers while still playing the most minutes out of forwards on the team.

Wow. Benchmark, hindsight, alternative pick "Boone Jenner" is currently the leading scorer of the OHL with 12 points 7 goals in 5 games

Great question!

It depends on the situation, I think. Since Jensen won't be playing for AIK next year again (hopefully) one year of playing big minutes on a crappy team shouldn't really be detrimental to his development. Getting all that ice affords him the opportunity to gain experience playing against pros and so far it seems he's already off to a good start.

And boy, is his team ever bad. I'd almost be mad if it weren't for the fact he's playing basically top 6 minutes which makes up for it. More playing time = more chances for him to use and develop his skill and savvy in-game.

There we go! AIK with it's first win of the season today 5-3 over Rogle.

Jensen with a goal, again playing on the third line.

They've broke the slump! Good to hear as hopefully it means they start playing better and Jensen gets more chances.

Must be nice to have the option of your leading scorer being on the third line.

From the link (http://hockeyligan.se/trupp/AIK/4937) earlier in the thread:

8gp, 4g, 1a, 5p, -2, 4 hits

3 goals were on the PP, so his +/- would look better if he had created more at even strength (only 2 + events with 4 -). He has one game winner as well.

He's one of the team leaders in shots, and has a 25% shooting percentage. He's 6th among forward in ice time despite playing on the 3rd line.
