Check Jensen's goal at starting at 2:47. Pretty sick, ut he got a little lucky too.

Such a beautiful goal. He has that crazy ability to take a bad angle shot from anywhere in on the left side and rip it top corner far-side. I really liked seeing him active in front of the net too, earlier in the video. Loui Eriksson is looking like much more of a solid comparable now, and Jensen has nearly two inches and 10 lbs on him at 19.

@TysonGiuriato: #Canucks prospect Nicklas Jensen scored one goal in 23:03 of TOI in AIK's 2-1 loss today. Now has 15 points (12-3-5) in 29 games. #SEL

That kid has some serious skill.

Say what you want about the competition he's facing, but even NHlers that are playing in the European leagues don't pull off moves like that every day.

Sick move!

AIK is Jensen, pure and simple. The kid just did it solo, made a grown man look like a pylon. I just hope we don't screw up his development when he comes back to NA.

Wow that was a sick dangle and nice finish.
I think he should start in the AHL next season.
If he rips up that league, then he's ready and we call him up.
But if Raymond and Higgins go unsigned, then he's probably going to start with the Canucks.

That's why I say they should leave him in the SEL until he's ready for the NHL. It seems to work pretty good for the Red Wings.

Putting him in the AHL won't benefit him any more IMO. The SEL is letting him develop his offensive skills. The other details of his game he can learn as he goes in the NHL.

For once I would like us to have a dynamic offensive player that we just let flourish without trying to change their games. Like we did with Pavel Bure. We just let him do his thing, and he became a much more rounded player on his own.

If he comes back and someone (Arniel of AV) does the same thing with him that they are done/do with our previous prospects and ruins him there will be hell to pay in my eyes.

Finally we get something to be really excited about and to ruin it would be crushing. Can't wait to see him in back in NA next season.

My only issue with that if what if his defensive game doesn't develop aswell as we would like (or aswell as it would in the AHL) Then when he is finally ready for the big time he gets benched because of that, with our coaching I could see it happen.

As you said earlier the AHL is a league to develop weakness's, he will produce offensively either way IMO, it would be nice for him to come back, get adjusted to pro-NA game and hopefully with experiance he is currently getting him will produce fine and will work on his strengths & weakness's so he's ready for the big show.

It was certainly a nice goal, but it will be unlikely that same move would work in the NHL. The defenceman was looking at the puck and trying to stick check. Had it been someone like Seabrook or Ohlund on defence, Jensen would probably be lying on the ice catching his breath after being leveled.

That being said, Jensen is a pretty big guy too and will just get bigger, faster and stronger.

I know this kind of off topic but am I the only one who thinks his English has gotten better? He is even starting to sound more north american.

Anyone know why Jensen isn't playing for Denmark in the DIV1 World Jr. tourny on now? I'm assuming it's because AIK won't release him and quick frankly he wouldn't be much of a test for him as he would be way better than anyone in the tourny, buty it still be nice to hear up him lighting it up for his country.

no clue, I honestly didn't know they were playing it yet, denmark already won 3 games, so i guess they are not missing him that much. but the competition is sorely lacking, so i'm thinking the canucks may have had a say in that (stay and play against the best the SEL has to offer, vs go and play the second worst the juniors have to offer)

Denmark lost to Norway in their last game at the WJC last season. Winner of that game would have qualified for this years wjc. It's too bad.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

combine results.  Ehlers 5'11 162 lbs of solid rock.

Just a heads up: Both Canucks SEL prospects - Nicklas Jensen and Henrik Tommernes - will face eachother on December 18 when AIK (Jensen's team) goes up against Frolunda (Tommernes's team).

That last goal before the shootout was stunning. Some great wheels and a wicked wrist shot as well...

Jensen is a very effective player in the red zone area* of the ice. Whether he's skating in on his own, receiving a pass, or picking up a rebound, he converts on a lot of chances in that area of the ice.
