Great, lightning quick hand eye coordination, that part looks NHL ready. Excellent moves of the side board and a nose for the puck.
There is no way he gets that much room to move in NHL or AHL though.
Definitely a keeper!Posted ImagePosted Image

He has all the tools to make room for himself in the pro's and speed doesn't seem to be an issue with Jensen, he seems to have a very strong stride. He obviously needs to be developed properly but the Rick Nash comparisons have been pretty spot on as to the type of player he could be in the future.

Agreed, he may be faster than Nash already plus I think he is shiftier at high speed

Likely my last of the summer. So enjoy.

Great video. Jensen clearly has his sniping spot on the off wing and I really like his stutter step cut to the middle - kind of like the Radulov move. Despite what some scouts are saying, it looks to me like he does go hard to the net when the puck is there. Just more of a perimeter sniper on the regular. Nothing wrong with that.

His speed looks good because he's in juniors. skating is not actually one of his strengths and he actually needs to improve his skating quite a bit to compete in the NHL. For a big guy, Jensen's skating is not bad - but not good either.

If you watch Hodgson's highlight videos from juniors, he blows some kids out of the water with speed too.

Speed is actually one of his strongest assets.

Regardless of what level he's playing in, you can tell he's a fast skater. He also manages to get up to top speed fairly effortlessly.

Sure he needs to continue improving on his skating, but so does every player hoping to make the jump to the NHL. The important thing is that he's already a strong skater, so it shouldn't be hard for him to build on it.

And Hodgson was never a bad skater, contrary to popular belief around here. The only thing he lacked was explosiveness in his skating, his top speed was always good though. He's worked on that alot though, and skating really isn't a problem for him anymore.

As Bob Mackenzie puts it, "he has tremendous speed"

I like how he goes to the net when necessary. No use having size, skating and skill unless you use it.

^maybe he means as a good mentor.
Jensen won't be in the NHL for a couple years but if he were to be mentored by anybody I would want it to be Maholtra and Kesler. Both excellent 2 way forwards, not to mention Kesler's offense ;)
Don't forget Kesler is a great playmaker, with Jensen in a couple years he could get back into that form while still potting in the goals.
Two great big bodies, wow I'm excited.

^ If Lapierre could teach some of our other guys the art of agitating opponents and throwing them off their game, that's fine with me actually.

Jensen picked up 4pts (2+2) yesterday in the Danish U-20 tour of Québec. One of them was a shorthanded goal, according to somebody who went to the game, Jensen was impressive, getting one of his goals shorthanded and dominated the match for the most part. The Danish will play Shawinigan tomorrow night.

Denmark U20 - Blainville-Boisbriand 4:5 (2:3, 1:1, 1:1)
0:1 Jess Tanguy
0:2 Michael Clarke (Plouffe)
0:3 E.J. Faust (Lemieux, Laflamme)
1:3 Nicklas Jensen (Spelling) SH1
2:3 Anders Schultz (N.Jensen)
3:3 Nicklas Jensen
3:4 Toliver Bergeron (Laflamme, Clarke)
3:5 Ilya Nikolaev (Olivier Picard) PP1
4:5 Anders Schultz (Russell, N.Jensen) PP1

Awesome. We know the skills are there. He's shown that he can dominate the game last year too.

The biggest question with him is consistency. He did improve quite a bit in the latter half of his season. Let's hope he can build on that and start to perform night in and night out (Though obviously not expecting 2 goals and 2 assists every night).

Denmark is up 1-0 right now, halfway through the first. it was a PP goal, Jensen was not in on it, but was on the ice for it.

Nope, guess not. Glad to see he got a goal though.

5 points in 3 games now. Not too shabby.

The Danish goalie looks like he had a great game, 42 saves!

EDIT: NVM, looks like they tied it afterall....
