Adding characters from the Tales series would seem quite appropriate for a Smash Bros game. The side-to-side combat system from Namco-Bandai's RPG franchise could certainly be expanded even further in the next Smash Bros installment.

The problem with the Wii U is that its competition will seemingly be the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360. Unfortunately, Sony and Microsoft still have time to improve their upcoming platforms. Their latest products may be even more powerful, and Nintendo could once again be left behind.

theres always a possibility, but ps3 released a year after the 360, and has almost the same graphics.

This seems like the exact gameplay from the DS. The only difference is that its one bigger screen and now they finally implement the 360 sticks. I'm pretty disappointed that Nintendo could only come up with this

But because it's being made by Nintendo, it'll sell very well. But then after a couple of years, people will realize how gimmicky it really is, and it'll completely die off like how the Wii did.

Yeah but even though everyone hates on the Wii now, it was actually really fun when it first came out. It seemed really cool with all the motion sensors and wii sports things. Then SSBB....that ate up hours of gameplay. After Brawl there just weren't any good games anymore. I mean, I don't regret buying a Wii, its just it kinda died now.

Has this come out yet? Heard it supposed to come out in January when rumours/reports started.

Actually, no not yet. and no official launch date yet, though rumors say November 18 2012.

Unreal Engine 4 "not intended for Wii U." It can run UE4 games, Epic just has no intention of making that happen themselves. Considering their history, I'm not really surprised.

intendo Power confirmed Mighty Switch Force HD is coming to the Wii U eshop.

The PS3 is a more powerful system. The problem is when developers are working on a cross-port game, they simply make something that will work on both.

Take a game that is specifically designed to take advantage of the PS3's abilities - such as Uncharted 3 - and you can see the differences.

Developer: Borderlands 2 on Wii U would be amazing

July 16th, 2012

borderlands-2-wii-u.jpg

Developer Gearbox never held back in their praise for the Wii U. They were one of the first developers to come out and fully support the new Nintendo console with Aliens Colonial Marines. In fact, they’ve said numerous times that the Wii U version of Aliens Colonial Marines will be the best looking one.

In a new interview with Dealspwn, Gearbox founder Brian Martel says he thinks the Wii U is a “really cool platform”, and that it’ll be interesting to see how Microsoft and Sony respond to the touchscreen controller with their next gen consoles. They have sort of responded already, with SmartGlass and Sony’s Vita cross-play.

“If Borderlands 2 was on the Wii U, the thing I would be most excited about is inventory management: it would be amazing on that” Martel said about the upcoming Borderlands 2 first person shooter. He added that the artwork on the Wii U would look better because the console can handle higher resolution textures. Borderlands 2 is the sequel to the highly successful Borderlands, and is a cross between a first person shooter and role playing game, where players continuously gather loot and items.

So far, Gearbox is waiting for publisher 2K Games to give a green light for the Borderlands 2 Wii U port. However, 2K Games isn’t in a hurry, they’re waiting to see what happens with the Aliens Colonial Marines Wii U version before investing in more ports.

"Rise of the Guardians" Game May Narrow Wii U Launch Window

BY MICHAEL EPSTEIN | JUL 17, 2012 | 11:45 AM

riseofguardians.jpg

the game is probably crap, but nov 20 sounds about right for a launch date for the wii u.

Rise of the Guardians, a video game tie-in to the upcoming movie of the same name, is expected to come out for Wii U on November 23rd in Europe, according to D3Publisher.

Though Nintendo has said they plan to launch the Wii U before the end of 2012, the console-maker has not made mention of a release timetable for the console or any of its games. The release date for Rise of the Guardians may provide an outside date for the Wii U release window, just in time for Thanksgiving and the critical kickoff to the holiday shopping season.

The game, which is also coming out for Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on the same day, will hit stores just ahead of the film's European theatrical release on November 30th.

As we've mentioned in past articles, video games generally come out in North America a few days before they do in Europe: American retailers expect Rise of the Guardians: The Video Game to launch in North America on November 20th.

In Rise of the Guardians, players take control of childhood legends like Santa Clause, Jack Frost, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and Sandman, to fight an evil nightmare-making spirit. The game will feature upgradable abilities and four-player drop-in, drop-out co-op play.

Nintendo has said they plan to reveal their launch plan for the Wii U this fall.
