avelanch
The name sounds fine to me, but it will be even more hated if they change it at this time. People are going to make alot of fun of Nintendo for that. But what will they call it. It might be called "Stream" that was predicted before it was announced as Wii U. If the online is a fail, Wii U is a a fail. Its true. Online is mostly what we game for. They will most likely call it "Nintendo Network". But I still don't understand what nfc is? the wii used to be called project cafe, not stream. stream was a speculation over the name, which was wrong. they already announced that their new online service is going to be called the Ninetndo Network, it's in the 2nd link i posted. NFC is basically a RFID card reader. what they are talking about is embedding a RFID chip into cards or figurines and such, and then allowing you to buy them and then just swiping it by the console (or tablet) and it would read the info on the card and unlock items in your game, or fill up your points or such. in the context mentioned, it's just a physical way of providing what would normally be downloadable content, but it could open up even more possibilities. for instance, a pokemon game where you buy your pokemon figurines and then place them on the tablet to call them into battle, or a FPS where you buy a figurine of a character and that unlocks that character in the game, or a new gun, or outfit. it would also allow for you to unlock items in a bunch of games from a single physical item (unlock sonic in smash brothers by scanning your sonic figurine from a sonic game). stuff like that. VGCanuck
This looks very promising. I've been a fan of Nintendo stuff since I was 3 or 4, and it's looking like the Wii U will live up to my expectations. Can't wait for Pikmin's return. I guess you mean Wii U was Project cafe. The Wii was called revolution. And thanks for the info about the nfc. What do you think they could possibly rename the Wii U? What do you think they could possibly rename the Wii U? yeah, the wii u. in my time on this earth, i've learnt not to try to tell what nintendo might do next. Nintendo Cafe seems a little too boring to be a real name, but I never though they would go with the Wii either. I'd like them to bring back the revolution name, i was kinda pissed they dropped that for the Wii.

Bob Singh
What do you think DS stands for? Does it stand for anything? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.gamekudos...ew-xbox-this-e3 No new Xbox this year, Microsoft says. But the guy is actually being polite to Nintendo and not insulting them or so. http://wiiu.nintendo..._a_home_console Nintendo may not call Wii U and "Home Console". What will they call it? I know! They'll call it... The Wii U!

Armada
I personally think a lot of people who bought the Wii and then realised it wasn't as fun as they thought won't plan on buying a Wii U. Basically I see the Wii U having great sales but won't have record sales like the Wii just because all those people who bought the Wii regretted it. avelanch
I still love, and play with, my Wii. I was not disappointed with it, and am eagerly anticipating the Wii U.
Bob Singh
I have a Wii too, play it everyday, but the only thing that I found disappointing was the very small library of games. I don't really care about HD and graphics, but it would have been nice if the Wii had HD. I have thought of getting a PS3 alot of times, but since I found out about the Wii U, the PS3 was gone. Bob Singh
http://venturebeat.com/2012/02/02/sony-patent-application-shows-control-method-that-resembles-wii-u/ OMG! That is all I have to say. SONY= ME AT SONY.
Bob Singh
For all you guys that think Nintendo is coping Sony - http://www.inentertainment.co.uk/20120203/sony-copies-wii-u-maybe-other-way-round/ The patent was filed in 2010. The Wii U was announced in June 2011. Do you guys possibly think Nintendo made all that in 1 year? I don't think so. http://www.n-europe.com/news.php?nid=16768 New games coming towards the Wii U. http://www.deccanchronicle.com/channels/showbiz/tv-guide/wii-u-coming-too-early-598 Is the Wii U coming too early, I don't think so. If they don't release it by the end of the year, I'm done with Nintendo.
Bob Singh
Xbox 720 rumors are back! http://www.computera...troller-report/ The above link claims it will have a Wii U like controller.- "Writing in its latest issue, XBW's sources report the next Xbox "will be a matt-black media hub with a mission to bring games to life in your living room with augmented reality, directional sound, and a four-player, finger-tracking Kinect." The mag claims Microsoft is experimenting with a tablet-like controller with a shape closer to Sony's PS Vita than Wii U's "bulky unit"."- The report reads and so on. But what really pisses me off is that it says Wii U has a bulky controller???? http://www.geek.com/...oller-20120211/ Next article has a different picture of the controller. In which it look almost the same as Wii U . Somewhat these pictures don't really make me think this will be real. 2 different websites= 2 different pictures. Now all nintendo needs is a multi touch display and full 3rd party support. And ability to play used games would also be nice, Since Xbox 720 won't have that.
