He tries to do everything himself... every time he got the puck in his zone you could tell he was set on going end to end. The one goal kitchener did score last night was because he was forced to pass on one of his rushes and his teammates made it happen. I see him being a mike green sort of player - great for offense but he'll need a steady stay at home partner to cover him.

I can picture it now... Murphy starts behind the Carolina net... Skates it up... Stolen by Hansen... Scores!

Great for a young player to have confidence, but overconfidence will burn them. He'll come back down to earth when he starts playing against men.

Absolutely. My first thought watching all that skating around was he should be glad Scott Stevens is retired. Against men he's going to get hammered a few times and that'll be it. He can still make rushes, but doing it all himself won't work at the higher levels as he's just not good enough for that.

Corrado on the other hand already plays a game that fits higher levels. He plays responsibly and jumps into the play where he can. He'll still need to figure that out against bigger and stronger players, but a bit of time in the AHL and he'll pick it up I think.

#chicagowolves: Defenseman Frank Corrado Joins Wolves - The Vancouver Canucks have assigned defenseman Frank Corra... http://ow.ly/2wc69L

CORRADO completed his fourth Ontario Hockey League season on April 12 when the Kitchener Rangers were eliminated 4-games-to-1 by the London Knights in the second round of the OHL’s Western Conference Championship. He recorded 2 points (G, A) in 10 postseason contests with the Rangers.

The 20-year-old defenseman set career-highs with 7 goals, 38 assists, and 45 points in 69 regular-season games split between Kitchener and the Sudbury Wolves. His 38 helpers shares sixth among OHL blueliners, while his 45 points tied for 11th.

Overall, the Toronto native amassed 95 assists, 110 points, and 310 penalty minutes in 259 career OHL games with Sudbury and Kitchener spanning four seasons (2009-13).

CORRADO posted an assist in four regular-season tilts with the Wolves last season after he was signed to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO) on April 2, 2012. He also skated in two Calder Cup playoff games with Chicago.

The Wolves travel to Wisconsin for the final time this year when they battle the Milwaukee Admirals in an Amtrak Rivalry contests at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16.

Gilman: If Frank Corrado "acquits himself well (with Chicago Wolves) there's no reason he couldn't be brought up to Vancouver"

It wasn't specifically suggestive that he would be brought up, but he mentioned it along the lines of if Tanev could play for us in the playoffs his rookie year then it's not out of the realm of possibility Corrado gets the call either.

He did mention Joslin got the got the call as Worcester was already out of the AHL playoff race (as Joslin is on loan to them) and he would have been called up with other depth when available as well. The Wolves still have a small chance at the playoffs I believe, so they wanted to leave their roster undisturbed.

who's this Scott Deady? Is he credible?

Would be sweet to see Frank for a couple of games just to get some experience; maybe bring Jensen up as well for the Oilers game?

Scott Deady is just a friend, but it's confirmed that Corrado is being called up. Not surprising considering the high praise by Gillis and Gillman's interviews. Clearly Cam Barker isn't cutting it.

He's also a right handed shot, which we could most definitely use right now.

Talk about being thrown into the fire!

If he gets called up, his 1st NHL game would be as a Vancouver Canuck against the Chicago Blackhawks :P

One of the best rivalries in hockey today.
