I'm sure without ever playing an NHL game, he is miles better than Barker. Call him up.

Edler-Corrado sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. As much as I hate to say it, Ballard-Edler may be a bit better. Or maybe even split up Hamhuis-Garrison?

So is he called up or not?

No official word or tweet confirming he is coming to Vancouver.

Just that he will find out this morning but no tweets since.

I'm thinking we get the announcement after the Wolves play later today.

Doubt he plays vs Chicago. It would be his 4th game in 4 nights.

Here's two clues:
1. He's not listed on the Chicago Wolves roster since yesterday.
2. He is listed on the Canucks roster since yesterday (#58).

Most of the people on this forum don't seem to understand that "they're", "their" and "there" are not interchangeable. Is this not taught in school anymore?

Corrado neeeds a big defensibly responsible partner. The kid plays best when he is pinching and when he doesnt have to be the bruiser.
Hamhuis might be the best linemate for him. Ballard would be next. Corrado would be too busy baby sitting alberts but a big guy like that is what he is used to.
He worked well with Sefton most of the year in Sudbury because Sefton made sure he created space with his big body so Corrado wasn't overmaned.
Not to mention he hung back so Corrado could make plays on the rush.
I'd put him on the 2nd pp for sure.
Now that i think about it Corrado Hamhuis is the only pairing that really makes sense.

I can not agree that Ballard is a defensive specialist.

I can not agree that Ballard is a defensive specialist.

Nor that he's big. Even if Hamhuis' case, he's not the biggest guy but at least plays physical (or has in the past) and definitely is a defensive specialist. I don't know if I'd completely agree on putting the pairings that way based on that logic, but we'll see what happens with Bieksa and Tanev still out.

we locked up a playoff spot, might as well see what we have in corrado, especially if we will be lacking RHD for any time in the playoffs. the next 2 games will be a great test of his merits in the NHL right now.

Well give him the "Tanev Test" which is throwing him into a big game and seeing how he handles it. I'd pair him with Edler, but throwing a kid with 4 AHL games under his belt into a top-4 role against the best team in hockey may be a bit much LOL.

Is Ballard even playing tonight? If not, Corrado in the lineup before Joslin (I would think). Don't think they would risk putting him on the top 4 in his first NHL game.

Edler Garrison
Hamhuis Alberts
Ballard/Barker Corrado

If he looks good, switch him up with Alberts. If Ballard isn't playing, our 3rd pairing needs to have very low minutes. A pretty weak defense against the Hawks tonight.

Talk about being thrown into the fire!

If he gets called up, his 1st NHL game would be as a Vancouver Canuck against the Chicago Blackhawks :P

One of the best rivalries in hockey today.

Called it. And I love his reaction to being thrown into one of the best rivalries in modern day hockey!

Corrado was great vs CHI on Monday. He had...at the very least...2 memorable hits. One was upon Kane & a referee simultaneously...a freakin' 2-fer! The whole crowd cheered just for him....when he made a brilliant defensive play thwarting a breakaway pass to Kane by batting the puck down & out of mid-air.

Edler & Corrado were more-than-fine as a D-pairing & the kid even made a few of forays deep into the offensive zone. Could not have asked for a better outting from this kid in an NHL debut game. He was well-deserving of the Game's 3rd star.

Keep it up Frankie! All we've got to do now folks...is await his 1st NHL goal & come-up with a suitable nic-name. 'Cuz all indications are....even if the D-corps is healthier...that AV may have Corrado racing up his depth chart & make him a bona fide starter for these play-offs...sooner than later.

Corrado is a beauty. I was very impressed with how he played against the Hawks.

That game gave even more evidence of why Steve Spott is a completely incompetent fool and should never be anywhere near Team Canada's WJC team.

and then he turns around and trades for him in kitchener. sorta makes me wonder how much politicing was going on during selections.

I think it's going to be hard for Corrado not to make the team next year. I think if he stays and plays in the playoffs and shows competence, it makes unloading Ballard that much easier.

really? Corrado is exactly who Edler has been waiting for ever since, Ehrhoff left followed by Salo.

I hope Tanev puts on some weight this summer, same with Corrado - if he can bulk to 200, then those hits he throws will be significant.

My pairings for next year:

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Garrison - Tanev
Edler - Corrado
Alberts

Ballard gets waived or bought out, as we can't afford his cap. I think we'll see the young guys get rotated out every now and then.
