snizzle_
We still retain his rights? Does it matter? If he's going back to Sweden at 24 years old then I think it's safe to say he's done.

wshdrvvn
Canucks re sign Tommernes today ? http://www.hockeydb.com/scoreboard/ look at hockey transactions That would be a cool maneuver if they meant to keep him all along, but logic says that's a typo. elvis15
Yeah, it's impossible for them to do so after agreeing to terminate his contract. I'm sure they meant to say released or something similar.

MoneypuckOverlord
goes to show, the AHL is toughter leage to play in then the SEL, that's 2 examples in 3 years, that Swedish players are struggling at the AHL but thriving in the SEL.
elvis15
I don't think that's really proof as some players just play better on the larger ice. They're fairly close but I think I would put AHL above the SEL in talent level overall.

Yea he's a great SHL defensemen playing for the best team in the league. He's in a great situation and before anyone suggests that the Canucks should bring him back over, he wouldn't come unless he is 100% guaranteed playing time in the NHL. No incentive for him to come over to North America to end up riding the bus in the AHL.
