A quick reminder of Section 4.2.1 of our CBA, for all GMs and especially those new to the game.

4.2.1 – Qualifying Offers

Teams looking to retain the rights of their pending Restricted Free Agents would need to submit a qualifying offer based on the following scale.

  • $500,000 - $1.5 million = 110% of previous contract

  • over $1.5 million - $3 million = 105% of previous contract

  • over $3 million = 100% of previous contract

Qualifying offers are calculated using a players base salary, not including bonuses. The deadline for submitting qualifying offers is 11:59pm Pacific Time on June 30th of each season. This offer may or may not be accepted, but the player will go to Unrestricted Free Agency if the qualifying offer is not extended before the deadline.

Before a dozen offers come in for him:

Alexander Radulov is not eligible to be signed by a team until the summer, like any other unrestricted free agent. He's been added to the unrestricted free agent forwards list.

Hmm unfortunate, I've been fielding offers for him from 2 teams for a few months already.

If a team still had his rights, then he would be eligible to re-join that team.

But as his rights were voided when he bolted to the KHL, he is an unrestricted free agent. Had he signed before the deadline, no problem (although he was still under contract to the KHL at that point so wouldn't have been able to sign in our game anyways). But anyways, unrestricted free agents who's rights aren't owned by any team in our league must now wait until July 1st.

Blues Player of the Week

Player of the week is Jose Theodore with 52 Pool Points.

Jose had 4 Wins + a Shutout and 2 Pim´s during the Week.

He was acquired in late January via Trade with the Quebec Nordiques.

If he keeps his Status as Starter in real + the Contract Extension of Tim Thomas ...we have to look to Trade him next Season to

avoid trouble with the League. The Blues are looking for a young upcoming Backup.

But may it will go another direction.

We´ll keep an eye on this and wait what happens next Season.

Well..if the League has a problem with this.

Some other Facts from the Blues

The Top 6

Martin Erat needs 2 More Points to reach a new Career High in Points (57 =6/07 & 07/08)

David Legwand is on the pace for his 2nd Best NHL Year (best 63 Points...2nd 48 Points) with curently 46 Points.

Milan Michalek is also on the way for to his 2nd Best NHL Year. After 2 slump Seasons with 34 and 33 Points he´s back in the 50 Points (52) and may he will pass his 2nd Best with 57 from 08/09.

Stephen Weiss allready reached the 50+ (51)Points Mark the 3rd Time in his Career.

If he keeps scoring he could reach his record of 61 Points.

Jarome Iginla has more like a mediocre Season with currently 62 Points. Last Season he had 86 Points but 70+ are still possibly.

Clarke MacArthur had 62 Points last Season. He wont reach this numbers this Year but with currently 39 Points

he´s stil la solid Guy for our 2nd Line. We are esxcited to see more from him next Season.

All in all it shows us that we have made the right decisions in the Pre-Season.

Weiss,Michalek,Erat and Legwand are no Superstars but they re all give us a hugh depth on the Top 6.

So I know nothing about NCAA hockey but I did notice that all three of my players that are playing in the NCAA are on different teams seeded number one in the country going into the playoffs.

Chris Kreider is leading the overall number one team in points

Danny Kristo is leading the second overall one seed in points

Chris Brown is one of the top players on Michigan that will also be a number one seed in the playoffs.

Congragulations to these players. Would be pretty cool if I could watch them play a game somehow.
