theminister
Well I for one am shocked and surprised at this signing. It just came out of left field. Huh...who woulda thunk Parise would have signed with the Wings?
Sharpshooter
Frankly, for me, this came down to playing time. Every single one of his other offers either came from bottom feeder teams or others that were already extremely strong on wing. Detroit was the one team that was a reasonable mix. He is certainly top dog there.
da.moose
Report: The Washington Capitals will be moving to "plan B" now that Zach Parise has signed in Detroit. General Manager da.moose stated "Ya, we wanted him but we already feel very comfortable moving forward, We have a very strong core of young players and it will be very fun watching them turn into NHL stars." The Capitals currently have a lot of cap space and will not be starting the next season without putting in a valid effort to improve this team now. theminister
With little progression in the contract negotiations with UFA goaltender Jimmy Howard, the New York Islanders are uncertain of their future in net. GM theminister states, "It has always been our desire to retain the services of Jimmy but we are uncertain of whether we will be able to get a deal done at this point. Jimmy is a top goalie in this league and he has earned the right to take his time deciding what is right for him. It is still our belief that the Isles present the best environment for Mr Howard to succeed and we hold the highest hope that he will come to the same conclusion. "Saying that, if Jimmy decides that he is best to go another direction the team will need to seriously consider our options as we do not have a bonafide starter in the system to relace him though we do believe that Jhonas Enroth has the potential to be a quality starter in the future and Andrew Raycoft is a solid veteran back-up. "The coming weeks will be very telling for the future of this franchise." Bombastik der Teutone
The St.Louis Blues are happy to welcome Martin Erat and Marc-Edouard Vlasic to the Organisation and wishes Taylor Hall all the best with his new Team. "Well with Taylor we have lost a very talented young Player but with Martin and Marc we got 2 well experienced Players back. I´m sure they will help us to have a successfull Season. Further we have 4 another 1st Round Picks in the Hand, Joe Colborne ( 1st Round #16 Overall 2008), Mark Scheifele ( 1st Round #7 Overall 2011), Stefan Noesen ( 1st Round #21 Overall 2011) and Nathan Beaulieu ( 1st Round #17 Overall 2011) , who will hopefully have an impact on the Team in the next Years. Squeak
In real life that would be a retarded deal. However in fantasy sports where 2 50 point players do in fact equal 1 100 point player it's not that lopsided unless Hall pulls a Stamkos and wins the Rocket Richard in his 2nd year.
