It makes me feel slightly old remebering me and my buddies pilfering my uncles playboy stash and going to the old hideout in the woods to look at boobies....

It makes me feel old when I remember finding a stack of hustler playboy and penthouse mags in a bag in the woods and looking through them with my friends, i remember they all had giant bushes

That is the weirdest thing. It happens to everyone. Including me. Dose pointy boobs. Wtf? Were parents secretly planting porn magazines in the woods to educate their children on female anatomy? Who keeps leaving porn in the bush...

I think my girlfriend is bad for me, should I dump her?

yes. If that's how you truly feel it's not fair to you to stick around just to suffer. it was only supposed to be a short term project anyway. Time to find the future mother of your children Ted.... i mean gum...

Yeah, I suppose you're right. She's fun but she keeps getting me to do things I don't like doing.

I'll just wait until after tonight.

what was on the menu last night?

The full course plus a little desert.

It hasn't even been twelve hours but I already hate being single...

you need to move to new york, steal a blue french horn, meet some hilarious friends, and then, after running the gambit of flings, meet the love of your life, have 2 children, and then once your true love dies go and court the original girl you dated after your kids implore you only 6 years after the death of their mother.

the plot of how i met your mother, as summed up in 1 really long run on sentence.

Wow... That just flew right over my head... I feel ashamed now. :(

Here's a question:

If you were trying to pick a summer camping destination, with the following criteria/wishlist:

(1) BC Provincial Park

(2) reasonable day's drive from Vancouver

(3) a warm lake for swimming (canoe rentals would be nice also)

(4) tent camping (with vehicle access)

(5) suitable for bringing the wife and the twins (2-year-olds)

(6) it's the first time tent camping for the twins

(7) must have hot showers at campground (thus spake the wife)

(8) as much privacy and nature as possible (definitely not looking for a party scene and I like feeling like I'm actually in the wilderness and not some "parking lot" RV park--I'm more of the "hike in" type but that doesn't work for bringing the little ones)

(9) need relatively quiet nights for the twins to sleep

anywhere you'd recommend?

So far, I'm considering these options (but I'm very open to any others):

Haynes Point: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/haynes_pt/

--one of the better lakeside options but no showers there (so I'd need to figure out somewhere in Osoyoos where we can use a coin-op shower or something)

Kekuli Bay: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/kekuli_bay/

--never been here, seems like it's not very private as there are basically no trees

Okanagan Lake (North campground): http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/okana_lk/#Reservations

--the lake is nice but it's pretty busy there and it can get noisy

We're probably going to avoid Vancouver Island (and the ferries in general) for this trip.

Any good ideas?

The "hot showers" requirement is proving the hardest.

Cheers!

all these are a days drive (under 8 hours) and have hot showers and swimming and tent camping with vehicle access and (based on google maps) look fairly private as far as camp sites go:

Horsefly lake (7.5 hrs):

Shuswap Lake (4.5 hrs):

Herald (4.75 hrs):

Juniper beach and Steelhead seem ok, but definately NOT private (4 hrs).
