Guest Gumballthechewy
stay in and eat out. This made me laugh so hard but man, my girlfriend damn near crapped her pants! By the way, excellent suggestion! I think I have tonight planned out now! Link to comment
Snake Doctor
Does Mitt Romney's VP candidate make sense to you or did he just choose the male version of Sarah Palin? Link to comment
avelanch
Does Mitt Romney's VP candidate make sense to you or did he just choose the male version of Sarah Palin? well, my parents love it, so i'm going to go with the male version of Sarah Palin. Link to comment
Slaytanic Wehrmacht
Tesla or Edison? Kirk or Picard? Why the hell isn't Pluto a planet anymore? Who do those people think they are? Link to comment
avelanch
Tesla or Edison? Kirk or Picard? Why the hell isn't Pluto a planet anymore? Who do those people think they are? Tesla Picard (though I LOVE Kirk too) Pluto is no longer deemed a planet because it's too small, circles the sun in an off-axis orbit, and it's orbit crosses over Neptune's orbit. I disagree with their justification, as i think it's more them being too lazy to add the new ones than it is them thinking Pluto isn't really a planet. they think they are some sort of astronomical body or something, i think they are lazy a-holes Link to comment

Laziness was my original thought too. Adding Eris, Haumea and Makemake, not to mention Ceres, which would also qualify to the list of Planets would take too much work, and so instead of adding the worthy candidates to the field of 9, they disrupt a well known mnemonic study aid (My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas) by demoting Pluto. Makes no sense otherwise. Link to comment

Slaytanic Wehrmacht
just a brainstorm....adding in the four dwarf planets I mentioned earlier that mnemonic would go "My Very Exhausted Mother Just Served Us Nine Poached Eggs Ham Macaroni and Cheese" Link to comment

Guest Gumballthechewy
I personally believe demoting Pluto was a good call, it's nothing more than a glorified asteroid anyway. Link to comment
avelanch
i'm not going to take that seriously. Link to comment

Slaytanic Wehrmacht
Yeah that's probably best... Not to get into a serious tete-a-tete about this but Pluto is not that much smaller than Mercury, which has not even been considered for demotion. Mercury: 3032 miles Pluto: 2306 miles Link to comment

And I asked a question in the ask avelanche anything thread so I felt compelled to reply to it. if someone else replied to it it would just feel... wrong. Link to comment
