Neymar’s Transfer to Paris Saint-Germain is 95% Done, Says CatalunyaRadio

PSG consider it practically a done deal, they say.

Paris Saint-Germain consider Neymar’s capture practically a done deal, says CatalunyaRadio, generally seen as a reliable source. The show Club de la Mitjanit say the transfer is “95% done.”

Barcelona will not ask for a euro less than the 222 million release clause, and no players are expected to be part of the deal.

Key to the deal is the fact that Neymar’s father, Neymar, Sr., will earn a hefty commission fee for the transfer. The father, who acts as the star player’s agent, is thought to be in for an even bigger fee than the 40 million he received when the Catalans signed him from his hometown club, Santos FC.

With Neymar’s father rumored to be due a fortune, and perhaps, some additional non-monetary considerations... and PSG rumored to be ready to pay the 222 million... the only person who can stop this is the player himself.

Again according Club de la Mitjanit, FC Barcelona is trying to convince the forward to remain at the Camp Nou, but Neymar has not committed to staying.

good for him. Also read that he wants to become FIFA World Player of the Year and he wasn't going to get that opportunity at Barca with Messi still his magician self and arguably the best player in the world. I hope it works out for him. gets a great opportunity to really flourish as one of the top 5 best footballers if the move comes to fruition.

on another note, United with their 1st ever friendly victory over City in North American soil. Lukaku with a cool finish after heading it pass City's Ederson who he made look silly and Rashford getting another one himself. Great start to the tour!

Some would argue based on talent he is already in elite world class company chasing Messi and Ronaldo.

Still rumors PSG was kicking the tires on Alexis Sanchez too.

Boy that would make them Ligue 1 favorite and Champions league contenders for sure.

On another note what happened to James Rodriguez he got lost in the sauce s little bit at Real with all the big names around him.

Now he goes to Bayern the Real Madrid of Germany.

He needs to fire his agent. If he wanted to get back some of his shine from the 2014 world Cup he should have joined Manchester United or PSG.

Don't think either cubs had any serious interest in Rodriguez. Mourinho would have known him already... or maybe RM were being troublesome to deal with, just as they were regarding Morata...

They thought they could get De Gea for peanuts, and didn't like Utd standing up to them...

As for Neymar to PSG that would be some statement...

would love Neymar to PSG because it would help elevate Ligue 1 tremendously. i think it's an already underrated league. not like there's world beating talent in the mid table, but the games I've watched have been quite consistently entertaining

edit: that said, it just sounds to me like PSG is using Barca to generate buzz and disrupt Barca like they did with the potential Verratti transfer

I just don't see this being more than a PR spin. Neymar could just be using PSG as leverage for another new contract

Neymar says yes to PSG...

just read recently that Chelsea president gives thumbs up for Matic to United move. if it comes and it happens, that would be another piece to help our midfield and give Carrick occasional rest as he probably won't be able to handle the matches with cup, Champs League and PL as well. this would be huge as it caps off a perfect summer

Yes read this as well. Would be very good as I'd really like him to patrol in front of back 4. Really starting to like how we are shaping up for next season. Still would like a winger, but think defensive reinforcements were of more pressing nature, so a C/B and defensive midfielder was top of my wish list (obviously together with Zlatans replacement), so nothing but smiles from my corner...

Yes please I might starting paying attention to domestic French football with Monaco and now PSG should be very entertaining.

Not to mention make Barcelona weaker for Real.

Monaco will likely be stripped bare before the window is shut. Can't see them repeating. The best they can hope for is to unearth more young gems.

Matuidi could be gone, Rabiot will be starting in mid I think

not sure how Di Maria and Neymar would work on the same side... Di Maria holds the ball way too long, tries to do way too much sometimes. if Neymar wants to leave because he wants to be the superstar world beater, I wonder if there would be a conflict there

Matic is a Red! Delighted to have snagged him from our rivals. He's is such a rock solid midfielder and completes passes, tackles with ease along with have an eye for goal. He certainly fits in well and having played for Mourinho not too long ago, he will be familiar with what is expect from him. Welcome, Nemanja!

Barcelona, PSG agree deal for Neymar - Source

We can confirm that Neymar will join the Paris club this week

Barcelona have agreed to sell Neymar Jr. to Paris Saint-Germain, sources with knowledge of the situation told Barça Blaugranes. The French club will pay the full €222 million release clause to complete the deal, and the official announcements from both clubs are expected for this week.

Neymar is currently in China for promotional events involving Barcelona and Nike, and on the way back from China he will land in Qatar for medicals and contract signing with PSG. The Brazilian will earn a bigger salary with the Paris club and will receive an immense signing bonus.

The first report claiming Neymar had accepted an offer to join PSG came out two weeks ago, and for the past fortnight we’ve had many developments to this story, but never an official word from Neymar himself confirming or denying the rumors. We learned that he told his teammates about his decision to leave last weekend, and last Saturday’s El Clásico in Miami was indeed Neymar’s final match as a Blaugrana.

The fun finally begins! This is what every football fan has been waiting for. A big splash like this. Neymar will get his opportunity to be the guy in PSG to flourish and establish himself as one of the best footballers in the world. I'm very happy for him and hopefully he breaks out!

PSG has violated FFP at least three times now, have been penalized just once. Barca execs are saying this move will violate FFP yet again, so they club has to be punished.

at this point, if Barca is right, the question just becomes WHO CARES? at this point, it looks like PSG could just do the following:

in:

neymar (222m)

out:

di maria (40m?)

matuidi (30m?)

ben arfa (9m?)

use some of the transfer profits to cover Neymar cost, then pay the FFP fine (20m) and move on

but what good are FFP fines if we're dealing with these insnane transfer numbers? what good are the fines if they aren't consistently given out?

either FFP has to be consistent with their fines or increase them or just straight up block these ridiculous transfers

Neymar: Barcelona forward given permission to discuss £198m PSG move

By Saj Chowdhury

Neymar arrived for training at Barcelona on Wednesday, and told his team-mates he wanted to leave

Barcelona forward Neymar has been given permission to discuss a world record 222m euro (£198m) transfer with Paris St-Germain.

The Brazil international told his team-mates at training on Wednesday that he wanted to leave the Spanish club.

He was then given permission by Barca manager Ernesto Valverde not to train and to "sort out his future".

The 25-year-old contract has a release clause set at 222m euros, which PSG are understood to be ready to pay.

The latest development comes two days after it emerged Barca were ready to push for a Financial Fair Play investigation if PSG signed Neymar

That came after La Liga president Javier Tebas threatened, in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, a legal response against the former Ligue 1 champions if European football's governing body failed to take action.

He also said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had been made aware of the Spanish league's intentions.

Neymar moved to Barcelona from Brazilian club Santos in 2013 for £48.6m, and signed a new five-year deal with the 24-time Spanish champions in 2016.

His representative Wagner Ribeiro, who on Wednesday tweeted he was in Paris, said last year that his client had been offered a tax-free £650,000 a week to sign for the French club.

He also said the forward "was close to a move to Manchester United".

Rumours of Neymar's potential departure resurfaced recently, but club president Josep Maria Bartomeu told the BBC the player would be staying.

Neymar played for the Catalan side in the recent International Champions Cup in the United States, before travelling to China to fulfil commercial commitments.

He travelled back to Spain on Tuesday and returned to the club's training ground on Wednesday.

The Brazilian has scored 105 goals for Barcelona, helping them to two league titles, three Copas del Rey and a Champions League crown.
