goalie13
I was sort of thinking about what Lebron and his friends did and wondered what it would be like if it happened in Vancouver. If say, 5 of hockey's biggest stars got together and signed with Vancouver specifically with the purpose of winning the Cup, would it be a hollow victory? mpt
And kes wasn't in there because he's a beast. You can't say he didn't show up in the big games until after he tore his hip apart.

Canucksbiggestfan
Luongo is our LeBron, will we win a championship without him? Who knows, but will he win a championship without us? Depends on where he goes.

Fakename70
It's always funny watching hockey fans turn into a bunch of whining crybabies whenever the topic of discussion is the NBA. It IS possible to be a fan of both sports, you know? And, actually, the NHL version of the 2010-2011 Miami Heat (in that, they supposedly tried to "buy" their way to a championship) would be the 2011-2012 Buffalo Sabres. But, interestingly, they didn't face any of the same accusations or criticisms the Heat did though. You could also throw inthe 2011 Boston Red Sox as well. All that money spent on UFA's after the 2010 season, and what did it get them in 2011? But, again --- and remember, there's no salary cap in MLB as there is in the NBA --- as with the Sabres, no one complained about the Red Sox spending spree like they did, and continue to do, regarding the Heat. I wonder what you crybabies thought about the game the other night then...

Neversummer
Malkin, Crosby, and Parise ... if rumours pan out and Pitts can sign Parise. This would be the NHL of the Heat. DownUndaCanuck
If the Rangers win a Cup next season they're pretty much a carbon copy of the Heat. Bringing in all these superstar forwards like Richards, Gaborik and possibly Nash now - the same way the Heat won a championship eventually. kesburlerows
Pittsburg is the most heat like team out there Lebron= Crosby- second best player in their respective leagues ever (always compared to Jordan/Gretzky) Wade=Malkin- both used to be top gun and have had some resentment towards top guy Bosh=Letang- star power players but over shadowed by the higher profile players both teams are loved by many and hated by even more people.. skyfall
I'd say the Florida panthers are the most like the miami heat. Obviously!
