I have to disagree. I think the bright spots in Cody's game have been the times when he controls the puck in the offensive zone with poise vision and hockey sense beyond his years. And thanks to his health, we are finally getting to see it for ourselves rather than debate in these forums whether it exists or not. Oh ya, and I feel we can thank Cody for that, not Marco Sturm.
Really? Because Hodgson completely disappeared in the 3rd period. That was also the same period that AV unwittingly switched his linemate (from Sturm to Higgins). In fact, when Sturm was wrongly demoted to the third line, Malhotra became a beast on the forecheck, keeping the puck in on multiple occasions.
The influence that Sturm has on his linemates seems to be unmatched. It's exactly what we need on this team to motivate our players. It's a shame that Sturm doesn't coach goalies, or else Luongo would return back to 2006-07 godlike form.
