Common sense
Actually that is where I though they might be headed yesterday when they packed up and left the VAG. Since the tactic of the move was to engage another level of government, perhaps the next move will be to federal land?
JustJokinen!
So I'll meet you guys here, same time tomorrow for another camp move and subsequent injunction?
Wetcoaster
City workers cover the muddy areas at the VAG with wood chips: And it seems the VPD are taking things seriously... finally. Maybe they consider themselves out from under Mayor Moonbeam's thumb as this was provincial action and a direct order from the BC Supreme Court to enforce the law. Statement released by the VPD: Occupy Vancouver Injunction November 22, 2011 Vancouver Police are asking all Occupy Vancouver protestors to obey the injunction that was issued earlier today and peacefully leave all areas of the courthouse. The injunction requires the protestors to leave by 5 p.m. today. The Vancouver Police are advising everyone, for their own safety, to clear the area. The injunction grants the police the authority to enforce the order. The VPD will enforce the order if the protestors do not leave. Police are asking the protestors not to resist in any way that could jeopardize their safety. Since the protest began last month, every decision the VPD has made in connection with this event, every action taken or not taken, has been in the spirit of facilitating the right to protest and keeping everyone involved safe from harm. The VPD recognizes that not everyone shares that agenda, that there are some external critics and some people within the protesting group who would like to see some precipitous actions that would spark a major confrontation with the police. So far, calmer heads have prevailed, and we hope that will continue. We hope that the Occupy protesters respect the ruling of the court and leave the courthouse grounds peacefully. http://vpdreleases.icontext.com/2011/11/22/occupy-vancouver-injunction/

Wetcoaster
An editorial from CKNW's Gord MacDonald of The World Today show: The Left loses on this one Posted 11/22/2011 2:48:00 PM Been there, done that Occupy Vancouver. Time to move on, time for another tactic. Forget the tents. For the second time, BC Supreme Court Associate Chief Justice Anne McKenzie has granted an injunction to stop a tent city – this time to the Provincial Government trying to remove the tents from the steps above the Robson Square court complex. Friday, McKenzie’s injunction granted the City of Vancouver banned tents on the front lawn of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Memo to Vancouver Police Chief Jim Chu and Fire Chief John McKearney - enough is enough. If the protestors move their tents to some other park, some other public land in the city, please move them out immediately. You’ve had the power all along to do that. Stop making the courts do the work your Mayor refuses to do. Please do your job. If Occupy Vancouver protestors block traffic again during the afternoon rush hour, kindly give them enough time to leave, then move them by force if necessary. This morning there were at least a dozen city workers cleaning up the front of the Art Gallery, finishing the job that began yesterday. One tweet had a city official pegging the cleanup cost there at 20-thousand dollars. Add that to the 500-thousand to 1-million dollar price tag for the 5-week Art Gallery encampment. Gregor takes five weeks to clean up the problem. Christy Clark and Shirley Bond take less than 24 hours. Criticize the provincial Liberals for many things - the slow pace of moving the HST back to the PST, the lack of funding for CLBC are just two examples, but on this one the lefties at Vision Vancouver, backed by their union buddies and the provincial NDP, look like fools. Fools. Every level of government is desperately in need of revenue. There are many, many good and important things governments should fund. Just ask Adrian Dix and the NDP. Every day they pound away at the Liberals for not spending enough money on this or that. Just ask Jim Sinclair of the BC Federation of Labour who pounds away at the Liberals every day for not spending enough money on this or that. Just ask Susan Lambert of the BC Teachers Federation – that big supporter of Occupy Vancouver – who every day complains about the provincial Liberals not spending enough money on education – which is her code language for not spending enough money on raises for her members. On this one, give the Liberals credit. In less than 24 hours they shutdown a tent city. Good old Gregor, that left-wing mayor who wins a 20-thousand vote majority on Saturday – takes 5 weeks and the better part of a million tax dollars. And without a hint of shame he demands more money from the provincial government for emergency heat shelters for the homeless. He demands more money for services of the mentally ill or the addicted. He and his lackies on council whine about “not enough money from the provincial government”. His school board puppet Patti Bachus whines about not enough funding for Vancouver Schools from those evil Liberals and fights any move to close schools, while 5000 seats are empty in Vancouver schools. The better part of a million bucks wasted on an Occupy Vancouver tent city at the Art Gallery that simply pisses off the public. Memo to Adrian Dix. Your leftie farm team in Vancouver wouldn’t know responsible use of the taxpayers money if it hit them in the face. Be careful, be very careful when all of these civic stars like Gregor or Geoff Meggs or Raymond Louie or Andrea Reimer or Patti Bacchus want to run for your party in the next provincial election. Because if what we have just seen from Vision Vancouver is how the provincial NDP will handle the taxpayers money, get ready to lose to the Liberals. aGENT
It seems the BC NDP has taken the temperature of the real 99% of the electorate and support Premier Clark's decision to seek an immediate injunction and have the OV protesters removed from the courthouse property. CBCSmart Stephen Smart @adriandix says he supports the provincial injunction at #occupyvancouver. #bcpoli 36 minutes ago

Wetcoaster
The OV protest says it will likely be on the move - maybe back to the VAG. Occupier Sarah Beuhler says protesters won't fight the order, but will move to a yet-undisclosed location that has been dubbed "Site C." "We hope to have our General Assembly tonight at the new location, but it could be back at the [Vancouver] Art Gallery," Beuhler said. There has been word that Occupiers will next move onto federal property, but protesters have not confirmed their plans. A list of potential future sites has already been established, but the group's movements are being determined one step at a time by a select group of individuals in an attempt to keep police out of the loop, according to Beuhler. "Authorities will be anxious to prevent us from setting up camp, so we agreed it would be best to keep it secret," she said. http://www.ctvbc.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20111122/bc_injunction_granted_occupy_vancouver_111122/20111122/?hub=BritishColumbiaHome
