What about the first line in the AV's game? They played fantastic!!! So skilled and smooth out there. I hope they can keep this up! Hatty by Daniel and some sublime plays by brothers Hank and Burrows make for some exciting hockey and I was pleased with the overall performance by the team (Lou, Schneids, Hanson & Coho with special mention).
The only negative (Lou going down was also a negative... but that's why we have a solid
If the top line keep this up, sniper Hanson/speedy Mason being set up by Coho on the 3rd and the amex line coming back.... I think this might be the most exciting Canucks hockey to watch, ever! We are all accustomed to the 1st line getting points, but now we can add a powerhouse 2nd line that can bang (Vamanoos) and a 3rd line with speed, good forecheck abilities AND able to score.
At the moment, my cup is half full. Booth being injured will give Raymond a chance to shine on the second (this might bolster his trade value or at the very least, give the other teams confirmation that he is healthy again), we get to see what level our Wolves players are at (Sweatt, Duco, Man, etc) and in 4 - 6 weeks, our Amex line will be be back again.
I really can't wait to see how this team does or how the opposition will react against the Canucks when they have both of our top lines playing at their peak. We haven't witnessed this yet, we have seen the top lines brilliance and we have seen the Amex lines brilliance (potential anyways), but we have yet to see a game when both lines are playing at their best. With the top line revving, the Canucks are a hand full and tough to stop.... and now that the Amex line has started to gel, how are they going to stop both lines? Gone are the days of throwing your best defensive pairings against the Sedins, gone are the days of throwing your best defensive lines against the Sedins.... Now they will have to contend with 2 lines that can easily put up 8 points a night...each
On those lucky nights with both lines playing at their best, you might want to lay off the beer and stick to highballs.... that extra bathroom break could mean missing 2 or 3 goals.
