News came today that 2 of the possible 3 eligible players in the NHL were released to play by their clubs.

Brett Connolly and Devante Smith-Pelly will join the rest of the Team Canada in the next couple days.

Camp Roster found here: http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.php/ci_id/75137/la_id/1/season_id/177039/profile_id/178507/team_id/82853/ss_id/56000/

Camp starts on Sunday with 2 intra-squad games taking place Sunday and Monday. After cuts are made the final roster will play an exhibition game against the CIS all-star team.

Pre-competition schedule can be found here: http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.php/ci_id/177131/la_id/1.htm

TC will play Finland, Switzerland and Sweden before the tournament officially starts.

The tournament opens on boxing day between Canada and Finland.

WJC schedule can be found here: http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.php/ci_id/170918/la_id/1.htm

Here is my predicted roster:

Schwartz - Schiefele - Connolly

Huberdeau - Phillips - Stone

Howden - Strome - Smith-Pelly

Gallagher - McNiell - Bulmer

Rattie

Hamilton - Gormley

Beaulieu - Pysyk

Morrow - Oleksiak

Murphy

Visentin

Domingue

Also, where is Tanner Pearson? Do you not see him making the team?

Any reasons why you don't? I'm intruiged by his performance so far this year ripping up the OHL.

Admittedly I don't know as much about him as I do the players I picked. No one seems to think he'll get picked.

I found the whole defence hard to pick. I had Murray, Harrington and Petrovic in there at some point. I also had Toffoli, Thomas, Ross, Reinhart, Hamilton and Bournival as hard cuts from the forward group.

Gauthier-Leduc, Kitchton, Dumba, Reinhart, Ferlund, McNeill, Phillips all cut from Team Canada. Roster at 35.

Thought Dumba and McNeill would at least get through the first round of cuts. If they don't make it to the NHL next year, they WILL be back.

Phillips has not played well at camp. Not sure if that has anything to do with Huberdeau out. Many have said Phillips thrives off Huberdeau, but at the start of the season when Huberdeau was with Florida, Phillips managed to play well.

One more game tonight and then last cuts tomorrow morning!

Dumba cut... :picard: I was looking forward to seeing him destroy people...

Thought McNiell would make the team, and Phillips would get a long look alongside Huberdeau. Probably opens spots for Thomas and/or Bournival in the bottom 6.

They cut Gauthier-Leduc?

That guy has been ripping up the Q this year like no other, I thought he would have been a lock.

I don't know anything about these young guys, but I always get jacked for the WJHC. How are our chances? Are we super stacked (in comparison to previous team canada's)
