In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Other than the third period he faced close to literally nothing. 5 SOG in periods 1, 2 and 4.

If it wasn't for Canada, Canada would have been in the gold medal game. See what happens when pucks don't magically deflect off your own player into the net? The Russians couldn't hit the water from the end of the dock in Overtime.

Congrats Sweden!

Take that Russia.

Next year will be fun - Canada, USA, Russia all in the same group

Classy fans in attendance at the game. Good of them to cheer Sweden and make them feel like they were the home team.

A 7:00pm local time in Ufa would be 8:00am for us. Ufa is 2 hours earlier than Moscow.

What a goal by Zibanejad. I knew he was going to score. He picked up his play in the 3rd period and was just flying all over the place.

He came all the way across the ice, the puck found him and he finished the rest.

He's going to be really good for the Sens.

Man why is Brett Connolly being so under valued and underutilized by the canadian coach. The guys a goal scorer and a dam good one at that, not a checker/grinder. He's a much more prolific offensive guy than most of the top 6, and has proven he's ahead of most of the other guys here by making his NHL club, yet he recieves barely any PP time and zero skilled linemates. I really think if he had gotten the chance to play with a guy like Huberdeau the game against Russia could have been different.

Should have been the RW on the 1st line instead of Stone.

Seriously, Brett could have scored at least 9 in his position. I know Stone had a hattrick in the first game and all, but it's Brett freaking Connolly. He played in the NHL with Lecavalier and Stamkos. This guy can finish.

I got a laugh out of how much the Canadian fans were cheering for Sweden. I'm sure it made a great experience even better for the Swedes. If there was one team that deserved to win a gold medal it's them.

If there was one team that deserved to win gold, it was Canada. Some bad bounces cost them their game against Russia, but they were the hardest working and quickest team in the tourney.
Russia simply failed to show up for the gold medal game. Great effort by the Swedes, and Makarov was great, but I think Russia lost that game more than Sweden won it.

Kuznetsov and the Russians celebrated like they won Gold when they beat Canada, and in a way, they did.

We were the hardest competition in the tournament for them - After us, Sweden probably looked like a piece of cake.

Kuznetsov won in 2011 as an underdog - he never learned how to prepare his team going into a game as the heavy favourites. They came out flat and unprepared, and Sweden took it to them.

Game over.

Hopefully this arrogant kid learned his lesson.

I just meant that with all the quality teams Sweden has sent to the World Jrs. in the last 30 years it was about time they won a gold.
