You are referring to bandwagoners no?
A bandwagoner habitually starts cheering for the team when they're doing good and thinks they actually know stuff. Gets bitter when the team doesn't do well, and stops cheering (at least until the team's good again). A shadow of a fan really; not dedicated, ignorant.
A fake fan just pretends to cheer for them when they're doing good to elevate their social esteem or something in the community. Has no actual emotion regarding the team, just pretends to. Not a fan in any sense of the word.
Basically, a bandwagoner will give support when the team does well, flip out when they lose and abandon all support. When the team's winning, the fan will be like "Yeah, go Canucks! Now vote for me/buy my product/consider me popular!" and once they lose, that person will lose all memory that the team existed, "What? Who lost? Oh...sure, darn!"
That's how I see it anyhow.
