El_Capitan
to be honest, i've never heard anything good about the shins, i've always heard they suck, reaaaaal bad but the problem was that the shins, essentially, were a batch of mercer's friends, not actual musicians. they had no idea how to play. but this tour will be different, because he basically kicked everyone out of the band, and i'm pretty sure he has a 'real' band now. modest mouse's drummer is in there! i'm hoping it'll be good, because i'm seeing them on the 23 myself. GLASSJAW
i've listened to SHIELDS about 15 times now, start-to-finish over the last few days. I seriously cannot get enough of this. Not only is it my favourite of this year, it's one of my favourites in i-don't-know-how-many years. Up there with PJ Harvey (Let England Shake), Girls (all their stuff), Fleet Foxes (all their stuff), The Walkmen (Lisbon), in terms of music that continues to grow on me. As close to perfect as an album gets. I'd rate it a 9.5, with ease.

GLASSJAW
Yeah, I've been trying hard not to overhype this album to myself, but its the best album I've heard this decade so far. I can't really think of anything else that I've just felt like listening to released recently. Also, Tame Impala leaked apperently, I haven't found a link for it yet though. GLASSJAW
new Tame Impala is really, really, really good but like their debut, it took me a billion listens to "get" the two songs in the middle, "why won't they talk to me" and "feels like we only go backwards" are wonderful

D-Money
Shields is fantastic. Even better than Veckatimist. Hmmm...so far some of the best albums of the year have been from: - Grizzly Bear - The xx - Of Monsters and Men - Chromatics ...But for the bands with only one singer, it's been a severe disappointment. ...
