I'd say Animal Collective's "Prospect Hummer" is the best thing that band released, other than Feels.

Just finishing up a full spin of Loveless, for the first time in ages.

Goshdarnit, what a brilliant album.

My brother said that the Silver & Gold boxset wasn't nearly as good as the first one. I'm not big on Christmas Unicorn, but it seems like the cornerstone of the set. It's not terrible, but it's.. not very great. It's absurd for the sake of absurdity.

For fans of metal, the best albums (in my opinion of course) of the year begins with Between the Buried and Me's Parallax I: Hypersleep Dialogue (EP) and ends with Parallax II: Future Sequence. If you haven't heard the album, you're missing out.

Oh my god, too good. Too good.

Im going to have to give that Crystal Castles a listen. I love their first two albums - strong melodies and wild vocals - both of which set them above most electronica bands.

As for christmas albums - Bruce Cockburns is my favorite. He does a great take on some lesser known christmas favorites.

New Tragically Hip, Hot Chip, and Neil Young & Crazy Horse are all out and ive been giving them my first listens, so far thumbs up on all of them.

Dan Mangan's Oh Fortune is still in heavy rotation for me. 2011 release, but I didn't hear it until this year.

I've listened to that Dum Dum Girls EP a dozen times already. It's fantastic.

It may only be 5 songs, but I can't think of many other releases that have at least 5 songs this good.

Every song on the new Yeasayer album has at least something I really like about it, and something I don't. (More often than not, the latter outweighs the former.)

One exception:

Fantastic song.

Video? Meh...
