They must suck at it in practice

Worse, they suck at it in games.

Henrik getting the shoot out explained to him by Daniel:

Dank: You shoot it.
Hank: I pass?
Dank: No shoot.
Hank: OK I pass.
Dank: No, it's just you out there. You and the goalie.
Hank: I pass to goalie?
Dank: We're not related.
Hank: I love you.

They are too patient in the shootout. They usually go in slowly and make some cheesy move. If they actually tried to dangle quickly with some speed it would throw off the goalie, but they don't.

Just to put numbers on it:

Daniel 4 for 21
Hank 0 for 3

But if you want to look at historical success, AV should look here:

Lapierre 3 for 6 - 50%
Ebbett 1 for 2 50%
Burrows 6 for 15 40%
Hodgson 2 for 5 40%
Malhotra 2 for 3 33%
Edler 3 for 10 30%
Raymond 5 for 17 29.4%
Kesler 9 for 33 27.3%
Booth 2 for 10 20%
Daniel 4 for 21 19%
Higgins 1 for 10 10%
Hank and Bieksa 0 for 3 0%

But it's not just that in the cases of Daniel and Hank, it's how badly they looked trying. Now if it was shootout pairs, watchout!

Easy answer
Since the rules change after the lock-out(2005/06) Daniel is 4/21 and Henrik is 0/3, why Henrik didn't had more opportunity, by now he only have 2 seasons overs 20 goals.

It isn't because you are the best of your team you will be the best for ''every job'' the twins aren't good in shootout so that's normal of not seeing them in the top 3. Why does AV rarelly put the twins line when we have a faceoff in our own zone, because he's under 50% and Kesler, Lapierre and Malhotra are all better than him to take a faceoff

We have more than we think in common with ''Le Canadien de Montréal''

Both have logo shapped in ''C''

Canadien and Canucks mean the samething

We both hate the Boston Bruins now

Alain Vigneault coached both teams

Rogers Arena, Centre Bell, it's phones company

We are blue white and green they are blue white and red

Our #1 goalie is from Qc, their #1 goalie is from BC

But we have one important thing different and I hope it will change after the next season, we don't have Stanley Cup banner

Some of the most lack luster atempts at scoring in the shoot-out have come from the sedins. They are great players, but going one on one with a goalie is not one of their strengths.

Considering some of the weak efforts put in by Kesler I definitely think that one of the twins should get another chance

I think AV's fear is that since both like to pass so much, they won't know how to finish in a shootout. But they are the leaders of the team so it's only fair to give them a shot when the game is on the line

I wish they would just skate as fast as they can right at the goalie and wrister from the slot. I don't know what the numbers say but, allot of people score this way. Back the goalie up and let er go. No need for sedinery.

Danile is currently 4/21 - 19% in his career. That places him 275th among active players.

Kesler and Raymond have failed miserably in shootouts quite some time.

It's discriminatory that Henrik has only 3 tries and just because he hasn't had a goal in 3 tries, doesn't get to go again.

I'd put Daniel out there to start the shootout every time, then choose the next 2 players, depending on who was hot that game or who does well in shootouts in practice.

If it goes to 4th shooter, I'd go to Henrik.

The point I was trying to make in starting this thread wasn't that they suck in shootouts. True Daniel's 4/21 is anemic. However, Henrik having only three attempts is a little surprising.

The point is they seem to be getting a little annoyed at constantly getting passed over. Maybe Coach V likes them a little annoyed as it's makes them more focused? I doubt it would ever become a serious issue as they're both so good natured and team oriented but once Pandora's box is opened it's hard to close it.

Hank is great in penalty shots.

Don't know why AV didn't use him in the SO.

They seem fine at breakaways, just need that added urgency to their SO moves. They take too much time and try to push the puck in, rather than snipe that mo fo.
