Certainly going to be our #1 defensemen. Give him a couple more years to improve his game and he'll be our new and improved version of Matthias Ohlund in no time

Exhibit three: Higgins has 280 blocked shots to Raymond's 68 blocked shots to Hansen's 75 blocked shots.

That doesn't exactly make Hansen look good considering he's played 25 more games than Raymond....

According to Blake Price and a twitter "convo" I had with him today, he Canucks should put Raymond on waivers.

BP: What do we lose if he gets claimed?
Me: We lose Raymond
BP: Exactly. Nothing to lose

What a joker.

Actually I have no idea now where nuck nit got his numbers from. Because I thought 280 blocked shots is a crap load. So I checked NHL.com and Higgins has 18, Hansen has 18 and Raymond has 8 blocked shots. Hits: Hansen 74, Higgins 50, and Raymond 20.

I think nuck nit forgot to put wit on the end of his user name.

I'm sorry but this is completely false. Higgins has Raymond bested in nearly every RTSS there is:

Exhibit one: Higgins has 8shg (in 460gp) to Raymond's 2shg (308gp) to Hansen's 2shg (249gp).
So 1.42shg/82gp to 0.53shg/82gp to 0.65shg/82gp.

Exhibit two: Higgins has 302-114 takeaways-giveaways (39-12 this year). Raymond has 125-75 TA-GA (10-7 this year). Hansen has 105-51 (25-17 this year).
So 53-20 TA-GA per 82gp to 33-20 TA-GA per 82gp to 35-17 TA-GA per 82gp.

Exhibit three: Higgins has 280 blocked shots to Raymond's 68 blocked shots to Hansen's 75 blocked shots.
So 50 blocked shots/82gp to 18.1 blocked shots/82gp to 25 blocked shots per 82gp.

Exhibit four: Higgins has 517 hits to Raymond's 187 hits to Hansen's 296 hits.
So 92 hits/82gp to 50 hits/82gp to 97 hits/82gp.

Exhibit five:

Higgins:
11/12 6ppga in 57mins = 78.6% PK rate
10/11 6ppga in 109mins = 89.1% PK rate
09/10 11ppga in 145mins = 84.9% PK rate
08/09 12ppga in 122mins = 80.4% PK rate
07/08 10ppga in 127mins = 84.4% PK rate
06/07 14ppga in 129mins = 78.5% PK rate
05/06 16ppga in 182mins = 82.4% PK rate
Career totals: 70ppga in 774mins = 82.0% PK rate

Raymond:
11/12 1ppga in 40mins = 95%
10/11 5ppga in 75mins = 86.9%
09/10 13ppga in 128mins = 79.7%
08/09 6ppga in 56mins = 78.6%
Career totals: 25ppga in 299mins = 83.4%

Hansen:
11/12 12ppga in 138mins = 82.6%
10/11 9ppga in 198mins = 91%
09/10 9ppga in 84mins = 78.6%
08/09 8ppga in 93mins = 73%
Career totals: 38ppga in 513mins = 85.3%

When they hook you up to the modern world down there in fantasy land middle earth go back and read Miller Draft's post-it is only one page back so you will not be as confused as you appear now.
Wasn't Bilbo actually a nice guy? What have you done to him?

Does it seem a little odd to anyone but me that Raymond plays on the second line of one of the best teams in the league and is apparantly worth so little???

I don't think he has been worthy of second line minutes for some time now.

That speaks volumes to the strengths of the Sedins and the PP.

That is not good because it means the weakness has not been addressed and it should have been a long time ago.

Kassian.... Taylor Pyatt 3.0

Lies. He's more of a Steve Bernier. Hopefully his talent level goes up so he can become like a Taylor Pyatt.

Guess again, Raymond has 308gp to Hansen's 249gp, meaning Raymond blocks 18 shots per 82 games, Hansen blocks 25 per 82gp.

Not saying that I hate him but the way he plays and what he does with the puck really frustrates me. Are you calling Raymond's miss against the Preds an "easy tap-in"?
Did you actually see it?
He hurtles in at speed, the puck flies into the air off Rinne's pad rotates in the air and Raymond missed it...........as would 95% of the top 6ers in the league.

Now did you watch Keslers miss at 5.40 to go in the 2nd? THAT was much easier.........but he missed it.........never mind his name is Kesler.

I'm not calling a decent player a little kid. But if you're interested I had my 66th birthday in December.........

Edit, I have added it now for anyone interested.

My addition was slightly off after putting the numbers in a spread sheet but here ya go:

https://docs.google....FqclZWdnc#gid=0

Powerplay opportunities is not actual opportunities, I just divided the minutes by two in order to get a kill rate based on a 2min minor.

Why? This exchange is why:

Hansen had one more point and Higgins had the same in the playoffs. Neither of them have Raymond's defensive qualities.........This board is crawling with people eager to put those 2 on the 2nd line. He handles the puck better than most of the team.........do you even watch the games?
You are so wrapped up in your dislike for a fine player, any judgement or logic you might have possessed is only a distant memory.

I'm sorry but this is completely false.

And Higgins is not "way older" than Raymond. He's only two years older (which at their ages is not a big difference) and Hansen is a year younger.

Raymond is a good player, I just don't think he gels with the other players on this team. So we need to either move him or other teammates; he would be much better served on a different team, Pittsburgh to be specific.

Boom. roasted.

I think Raymond would do well with a change of scenery.

The Canucks are one of the top 3 teams in the league so of course our standards for a 2nd liner will be much higher than other teams. Other teams might see him as a godsend or at least an improvement to what they have on 2nd line...

If he became the triggerman on the 2nd line with skilled plamakers feeding him the puck, he might do better.
