I think the following names might be good, I've used them to create Seattle as a team in NHL 12:

Seattle Storm

I like the Seattle Storm, it has a nice ring to it.

Having a team in Seattle would be awesome!

I would imagine the cost to drive there and back, a hotel room for the night, and tickets would still be cheaper than going to a Canucks game

For people in Vancouver it would be great. For us Victoria people it would still be about the same if we had to bring a car. Either way I'd be happy with a Seattle team.

No thanks to the Storm or Nirvana for team names. Call me old-fashioned, (or old, which I am) but I hate non-pluralized names.

Heat, Magic, Wild, Lightning, Thunder, Jazz, Avalanche...they all suck, IMO. The only ones not ending with an "S" that I don't mind are the Red Sox and White Sox.

Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

With Phoenix just completing a deal with the arena I wonder what the most likeliest team will be to move? Nashville?

yeah that deal is in no way finished. they passed it illegally and have been summarily sued by the watchdog org: the Goldwater institute. it's not going through.

Why don't we move the Wolves there? <_<

Two major teams probably means arena football or lingerie lacrosse with basketball! Its not like New Hampshire or Illinois where kids can at least have backyard rinks..., not even any snow birds. I doubt Seattle has much appetite for NHL hockey, no culture of hockey growing up = no support.

The Seattle Satelittes. oh boy.

Cougars reminds me too much of older NHL teams like the Detroit/Victoria Cougars.

Seattle Storm sounds nifty, but being that there is already a 'Lightning', it would lack distinguishability (<- not a word but should be).

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like Nashville, although certainly not hockey crazy, has recently built up a decent community of hockey fans so it wouldn't make sense to move them now.

Just to add... Portland ALREADY has an arena... someone earlier said that the rose garden is like the Key... it isnt.

The Memorial Coliseum is like the Key, but the rosegarden was built in 95 and seats 17544 for hockey and has all the amenities for an NHL team.

I would be happy to see a team in seattle but of course i would be happier to see it here... portland's ready (we sell out jr games at 11,000+ people a fair amount of the time) and with how much the blazers suck right now it could be a gold mine!!

Someone in Portland says that Paul Allen will in no way get involved with the NHL, is this true? The Jail Blazers could be for the taking, no Roy, and having to start over again. Fan wise, that is. Imagine, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver in the same division, just like the old WHL.

that would be my ideal situation, though it would only come about as a result of an expansion.

The Canucks don't own the Wolves. They only have a minor league affiliation with them. So the Canucks cannot move the Wolves anywhere, just like they couldn't move the Moose anywhere.

It's hard to move a Moose anywhere.

They're big, stubborn and none too bright.....
