canadiangunner
Don't underestimate Gillis's background as an agent and the fact that he really understands how to appeal to an individual player. That will be the key difference maker i feel. Gillis has the experience to know what sales pitch to layout their for an up and comer.
CB007
Glad to see the Canucks take it seriously enough to send their top two guys.
elvis15
It's nice to see Vancouver having a legitimate chance at making a splash in the UFA market. Apart from Hamhuis, I can't remember anything in the more recent past that we've done around July 1st. Garrison could still be an option as well, but we tend not to give top dollar in bidding wars, so he'd have to really want to sign here.

Systemaddict
I like the charade being put up by the kid when he likely made up his mind months ago. Oh well. The process. And he gets some free lunches. TOML

Sick Hands
I really hope Gillis' douchiness doesnt scare Schultz away. We know Burke will do what it takes to sell Toronto to him. He has the chip in Gardiner there.....

DIBdaQUIB
GIllis has said he wants the Nucks to get younger. Landing Schultz could depend on Gillis's ability to convince him he's serious. If Schultz sees himself as part of a new, younger group being groomed to be the new core in a couple years (Jensen, Kassian, Gaunce, Rodin etc), he could be convinced to sign here. If Schultz, feels there is a bias towards existing, senior players based on entitlement versus ability, he will likley go elsewhere. Unfortunately, AV's history and attitude with young players is not in Vancouver's favour.
