[Speculation] Possibility Of Justin Schultz Signing With Vancouver

Recommended Posts

Maybe he doesn't want to deal with the pressure of playing in front of the home town. If he doesn't live up to expectations in front of friends family then it would be a real drag. That could be one thing Justin could have against Vancouver IMO.

I'm anxious for todays signing because it will kick off the unfolding of some hilarious events on cdc. I'm picturing three possible outcomes:

1. Someone else signs Schultz. Numerous threads start up calling him overrated, and questioning his character for leaving Anaheim.

2. Schultz signs in Vancouver. He is hailed as the conquering hero, lives up to all the hype, and has a great career for his home team.

3. Schultz signs in Vancouver. He has an average rookie campaign. The Proposals section goes mad with Schultz + Ballard + Raymond for Shea Weber trade proposals.

This is just all Media's doing. Schultz has had a team in mind ever since he decided not to sign with Anaheim and that team hasn't changed one bit. Of course, like any top prospect will look at every possible option. People who are stirring up crap are just wanting attention, they don't know anything about the situation, that's why they've had a new front runner every hour.

Whether he choses Vancouver or not, this will be a Win - Win Situation for Vancouver.

If he signs here, Great would love to have him.

If he doesn't?

Mile Gillis has spent so much time chasing this kid, that now he realizes he can't go into the season with the same roster as last year, this could make him more agressive in Free Agency, or increase the urgency to get a Luongo trade done
