nuck nit
Botch and Rintoul-Gillis in Florida @ GM meetings Rule changes? Hand passes and tweaking the rules for more offense-all important. 2 minute penalty for a hand pass in the defensive zone-Gillis spearheading the issue. Composites breaking and shot blocking is at a premium.Covering the puck with the glove is a larger issue. Game being called? Gillis's position is stick infractions are changing the penalties and game. The league is aware and will address it. Saturday not the best of times-Botch. Gillis-based on the schedule and the mental and physical state of the team the rest was needed. We will do what we can for the team to be the best. So many teams in the playoff race, many teams are playing playoff hockey now. Combined with a heavy travel schedule we have not brought our A game. Not concerned but we want the team to bring their A game,ASAP. We learned about being patient and not being excited too early last year.It is a process and our team 'gets it'. We know how much they care and how much they want to succeed. We have the outmost confidence in this group. Raymond-given video and skills coach work.Major injury in the mix means it will take a while to get back on top of his game.Have to give him the benefit of the doubt. Roberto is our number one and Cory has been outstanding. Edler - minutes played are up.Occasional hick up.Excellent all season long.Confident he will get back from these fatigued levels. 6,7,8 players affected physically and mentally. It is a long season and we have to adjust. TOMapleLaughs
We rag on Edler but to me it's Salo who is clearly suffering. Another player we're trying to shelter a bit down the stretch. Tough to do while you're trying to bring your 'A game.' Cheers. TOML
TotesMagotes
I think the wear n tear of last seasons playoffs are finally catching up to the canucks. These guys have played a lot of hockey. Theyre only human. The same thing is happening to the bruins.
Down by the River
Vancouver: 4-4-2 Bruins: 4-6-0 Detroit: 3-6-1 Chicago: 5-41 Phoenix:4-4-2 San Jose: 2-5-3 Rangers were 4-5-1 just a few games ago (2 game winning streak currently) Canucks are not the only team struggling. It happens during the season. Let's look at their collective body of work. They are 3rd in the league. No reason to panic. I always feel more comfortable after a GMMG interview. The Sedin's 6th Sense
Thanks for the post OP. Sounds like MG and the organization aren't overreacting with the losing streak; great to hear.

Guest Dasein
Can't believe our GM has to actually come on the local radio and tell people Roberto is our #1...Again and again...
Bodee
MG is one cool, calculating dude. We are lucky to have him, he exudes confidence and optimism and many of our fans should do the same until at least we give playoff cause for concern. I see Ebbett is back on the ice. A wee bit of good news. It's all coming round.

Opmac
2 minute penalty for a hand pass in the defensive zone? Mike Gillis realizes his best faceoff man, Manny Malhotra uses the hand pass quite a bit right?
gourami12
I actually prefer Gillman's interviews (he weas on TEAM 1040 yesterday afternoon). Quite insightful, open and honest assessments. A little deeper than the: "it was a hard fought battle at both ends of the rink" cliches you hear from AV.
UFCanuck
Salo should be given like a week off of games.
