Defense Pinching

No.

Pinching d-men is what makes MG's and AV's system so good for the team: d-men pinching and causing more chaos for opposing teams. Its worked all year long, specifically, the past 3 or so years, and just because the team's playing poorly lately doesn't mean the d should stop pinching and stop doing what's made them so successful years after year.

Sure a few pinches in the past 5-10 games have been bad, but you gotta know that pinching is a gamble, and the team does know that. They know when to do so - they've been doing it the past 3 years with this system - and their gonna pay for it here and there, but other than that, I can say 85% of the time, the d pinching up is a plus for the team. :)

The Coyotes scored as a result of a terrible pinch (by Tanev I think). That left Bieksa all by himself on a 3-on-1, where he landed on his arse and waved at the puck blindly (this was Doan's goal). We have been extremely sloppy on pinches, among various aspects of the game, and pinching requires team chemistry, and team chemistry requires all players to be playing well. None of our players are doing very well, so you can see what can and will happen.

Agreed. We need to cut it down. Not only pinching at the blue line but in the neutral zone as well. It allows the opposing forwards to get possession in the offense zone by chipping the puck in as well as using the drop pass and creating chances off of odd man rushes. We simply can't play guns blazing every time, we've already seen teams like Montreal and Phoenix beat us off the rush, but we've seen nothing yet if we're giving teams like Chicago and Detroit this type of room.
