Don Cherry got in touch with my uncle to pass along condolances, and sent a beautiful wreath of flowers to the funeral. He made a mention on Coach's Corner, and Rock 'em Sock 'em, and made people aware of the dangers of sharing water bottles on the bench. We had never met him before this. I ran into Don a few years later, and he remembered who I was and the story. I am and always will be grateful to him for kindness he showed towards my family in a difficult time. He is an entertainer, and takes on an over the top persona for entertainment purposes. I get why people don't like what he has to say all the time, but he genuinely cares about people.
