Here's a bit of an "off the beaten path" one:

What former NHL great has a brother who was once the property of the BC Lions? (This should be an easy one)

yep.
Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

That's a good one. I'm not old enough to remember who the last one was. ::D

What about the Senators? I know the original Senators won the Cup a few times.

Vancouver won it, but I know that was before Victoria.

Do the Victoria Cougars count as a defunct team? They moved to Detroit to eventually become the Red Wings.

Winner! :P

The Montreal Maroons were the last team that no longer exists to win the Stanley Cup and they did it in 1935.

Yes they lost to the Pens in the finals in 1991Game 6 was the biggest blow out in Stanley Cup finals history at the time with the Pens winning 8-0 following the return of Mario

This one may or may not be easy, but I'll ask it anyways.

How many times did Gordie Howe hit 100 or more points in his NHL career?

I'm only guessing, but I would say it only happened 2 or 3 times, because I think its almost a trick question. He played so many seasons that I think its a low number. Final answer, twice.

Bigno! This is a tricky question.

Even stranger, he didn't do it until the end of his career in 1968-69. He was 41 years old when he had a 103-point season.

The main reason for this is that people overestimate offense in the 50's and 60's. Getting 100 or more points was pretty much unheard of at this time.

In fact the same season Gordie Howe hit 100 points was the same year that two other players did. This was the first season in which any player hit 100 points. So Howe was one of three during the first time this happened (the other two were Phil Esposito and Bobby Hull).
