As much as I love Kes, Naslund before the first Moore incedent. Kesler is still a better all-around player.

You must be too young to remember how great Naslund was. Kes is great, but Naslund was a better player by far. Kes has only one season over 30 goals, Naslund had 6. Naslund had 5 seasons with more points than Keslers best season. Naslunds best season is 29 points greater than Keslers. The only stat Kesler has over Naslund is more penalty minutes.

not even debatable

Agreed. As good of a player Kesler has become, there's absolutely no way you can comparer Kesler's wrist shot to Naslund's. As much power that Kesler has in his shot, his accuracy and release is not as good as Nazzy's was. Like someone said earlier in this thread, I'm willing to bet that Naslund STILL has a better wrist shot than Kesler does. Man I wish we still had him:( He probably wouldn't be a 40 plus goal scorer anymore...but I'm willing to bet he would be more than capable at scoring a few clutch goals for us heading into the playoffs.

Kesler's wrister is above average at best. Also very inconsistent. Ridiculous comparison of a CDC'er who vastly overrates some players on the team.
Untouchables: Tanev, Jensen, Kassian
Mostly untouchable: Sedins (need someone to man the fort and no trade value)
Open to trade: Everyone else

naslund had one of the best wrist shots in the league. kesler's doesnt even come close.
i would even say naslund's wrist shot currently is better than kesler's

im going to agree with the facepalm picture...this isn't even debatable. naslund is in a different class than kesler

Watch Bowness somehow mess up Tampa Bay's already amazing 2 powerplay units...he'll probably tell Stamkos to do drop passes from centre ice, take him out from the faceoff dot, and place him infront of the goalie

Nazzy for sure, Kes as power behind his shot, but Nazzy made a career out of his...also that second Kesler shot wasn't really impressive for being a great wrist shot, but because of what he had to do to even get a shot off

This isn't even a fair competition. Naslund had probably one of the two best wristers in the entire league back then (with Joe Sakic). Kesler's wrister is pretty good but he doesn't even score with it that much it seems. Naslund was lighting up goalies like weekly almost. Also if you ever saw it in the highlights it doesn't look unstoppable like Semin's for example.

Something else about Naslund's is his wrist shot almost had no wind up but it was still really powerful. That was really cool and I remember trying to copy it when I was younger (to no avail lol).

Exactly what I was going to say.

The reason Joe Sakic's wrister was so deadly was because his release was lightning quick. Goalies didn't have time to set up and get down before the puck was already going in.

I think the most important aspect of a wrist shot is the release. If you get it off quick enough, the goalie can't get set.

Hodgson had a pretty good wrist shot too. It was sneaky and unexpected. He pulled it off mid-stride like Naslund did.
What is the deal with Mike Gillis, it always seems like he's sweating...

Kesler can't even score with his wrist shot, let alone hit the net.

Naslund's wrister on the half-wall during the WCE-era was lethal; the only person at the time that was comparable was Sakic.

Watching Nazzy's patented wristshot from the half boards was a joy. Kesler doesn't even come close.

WHAT. Too young for Naslund? He left in 2008. So you're like.... 11 years old?

Well, I think the Moore hit messed up his elbow when he got that concussion so I would say 2002-lockout were the years to truly watch. Not that it wasn't any good after, just more predictable.
Still, I started watching the nucks when I was 4.. so who knows how young this kid is
