one of the announcers (cant remember which one) said daniel spent about 10 min getting an xray.

In my opinion, it does nt matter how bad the injury is is unimportant, my concern is why Keith was still standing after all was said and done. Sometimes one has to ignore a rule or two and do whats necessary. Until someone makes the point, teams are gonna keep taking liberties with our top players.

Kassian does not deserve first line minutes. He sucks thus far/

Where's the MINUS when you need it :picard:
As if it does matter much since we already have the second place in the West and probably won't be catching the Blues.
Ans do we really want the Prez trophy ... I don;t think so.
Kassian doesn't deserve it :picard:
Let's stay healthy (hope Danny is ok) and get ready for the playoffs in a few weeks from now.

And I would pay to watch the three of you get destroyed by a professional athlete who trains 7 days a week while you three sit around posting comments on CDC and telling each other how tough you are.

Ok, so you're most likely right, but not everyone on here is an out-of-shape slob. They could be MMA fighters....

Fractured jaw was my first thought as well.... How long does that take to heal? 2 weeks and then face shield maybe

^^ this
Not sure how much more of the NHL i can watch any longer.
The officiating is atrocious.
And I'm not being partisan, it is ALL over the league, not only for the Canucks games.

Good luck, Daniel. We're all pulling for you. I sure hope it's not too serious, even though it looked awful. :(

Can you picture a MMA fighter squaring off on the ice against an elite NHL player? That'd be like throwing a tiger in the ocean and let it square off against a shark. Of course the tiger is tough, but its not made to fight in the water.

I'd leave the tough guy business to those who can actually skate/fight, but hey, that's just me.

I'll say what I said in the "Keith Hit" thread:

I've recently been researching concussions (also called mTBIs, or mild Traumatic Brain Injuries) and from what I've seen, that elbow is almost guaranteed to give Daniel a concussion.
From the clip, it appeared he was hit squarely in the chin, and spun around from the force of the blow.
Based on the fact that a rotational force to the head, especially to the jaw area, is a leading cause of mTBIs (helmets offer no protection against rotational trauma), I would expect Daniel to be out 2-4 games at minimum.

On the bright side, he was able to skate to the bench, so there's no immediate evidence that it's especially severe.

With that assumption why not bring up Schreoder or a prospect winger to play first line then

I hate to break it to you, but buying 'Tapout' T-shirts and watching UFC doesn't actually qualify you as a tough guy. What exactly would you have done for free, let Keith use you as a punching bag?

I hate to even suggest it but perhaps he has a concussion? You all must remember how Towes is listed out with an upper (or was it lower) body injury but we all know he has a concussion. I really hope I am wrong about Daniel but ..........well just the way the canucks reacted in the 2nd makes me think that D.Sedin was hurt badly...

Regarding Keith they should throw the book at him!

Keith will get nothing.

My lineup for tomorrows game if Danny can't play:

Booth - H.Sedin - Burrows
Raymond - Kesler - Higgins
Kassian - Pahlsson - Hansen
Bitz - Lapierre - Weise

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Edler - Salo
Alberts - Tanev

Schneider

So we'd be calling up Bitz? Why not just put Manny in? or Ebbett may even be ready.

put Danny on the LTIR and get Ballard back in

Keith will get 4 games.

Bourque got 5 games when he hit Backstrom. It wasn't as bad, but Borque was a repeat offender.

As for the game.

Lu looked good
2nd period was a bust because of all the penalties. Best way to make a team pay is by scoring. However, I did like the Canucks response to going after Keith and making sure he knows that that s**t won't stand. Keith is a chicken s**t for not fighting.

Mason had a good bounce back game and looks like he knows what he has to do to be successful.

Bieksa needs work...he just needs to get out of this funk.

First of all, I'm a girl. Second of all, how about you ease of a little bit? I was only kidding, and I'm sure the other posters were aswell. But then again, it was my mistake making a joke on CDC during a loss.

Broken or fractured Jaw, just because after the hit, Daniel was trying to move his jaw.

BTW nice job by Keith hiding behind his teammates after the hit.

Get Well Soon Daniel Sedin!

Canucks did not do near enough to extract revenge. Proper procedure is to throw the puck in his corner for the rest of the game and run hell out of him. That way, they lose Keith and we lose Weisse - seems fair to me. The next time Keith won't even think about running Danny - he'll just have visions of slashes, cross-checks, hits from behind and attempted lobotomies.

Oh well, better a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Keith is an elusive player, he's not easy to hit. He had his head on a swivel the entire rest of the game he played.

I remember one of our players took a big run at him, and he just swiveled away.

That would only help if it was Henrik.

Hodgson can't play wing. ;)

That was Kassian! I was so excited when he was skating like a mad man and getting ready to run Keith into the boards, then Keith just took two strides to the left and was on his way to our end of the zone. Guy can sure be quick like a cat.

so your saying because someone does not play in the NHL and has some time to post on a fan forum they can't beat up someone who plays in the NHL???
i know a few people who would make mashed potatoes out of 99% of the NHL tough guys....

but i guess the thing is one of the top 10 forwards in the NHL got hit with a illegal hit. and BS better step up and give what is required. 5-10 Games if not more...
