MC Fatigue
I think they should do that thing from the simpsons movie where that giant dome covers the city but it should be used on Surrey. I guarantee you there will be no problems
Opmac
Difference this year is they could open up BC Place Stadium for both home and away games. With that big screen, they'd probably want to this year.
Easton76
People will still go downtown..
Special Ed
And if people do try to riot again i say bring on the dogs and rubber bullets. Settle it once and for all. Or stop people from going downtown after a certain time. Is probably even better.
MC Fatigue
Good luck with that. His memo should have been to the Canucks: Don't lose game 7.

puckluv
i agree with everyone who says the police chief and mayor mismanaged an event of this magnitude -- their job is to keep the majority safe from a very small group and they completely failed. OmgOmgOm_g
sounds about right, last time we had the government paid for those big screens and playoff celebrations cars were overthrown and put on fire. pathetic--good job by the police
Lychees
Good. Unless there is a huge assortment of authority presiding over the crowds which we don't have the assets for, it's just gonna lead to trouble

toyotafan
Sam Sullivan was oblivious to history by drawing a large crowd downtown in an event we all seen coming

thehamburglar
So what about people who live downtown? Stay in your houses, don't come outside! Sorry buddy, it's a free country. Maybe if you had done your job properly, we wouldn't have to worry about it.

MashedBananas
I'm not surprised. We were shamed by drunkies who wanted to start crap, mainly because of this. Good on the city.
Grapefruits
Probably the dumbest idea ever was putting those giant screens up and inviting everyone down, what did they expect?

-DLC-
Not too upset by this. Hated to see my beautiful city being trashed and abused by lowlifes. It was pretty upsetting to watch as it played out on TV....had a nephew caught down there and it was a terrifying ordeal for him. Idiots in large group settings will try to stand out with displays of asshattery at every opportunity. When fueled by alcohol, it becomes disastrous. I don't care at all that we can't gather in large groups for these events - I tend to share it with family/friends anyhow so really am not affected at all by this.
