Apparently, rules say you have to be a naturally born female.

http://www.thestar.c...om-pageant?bn=1

Now, did the application ask for gender or sex?

Don't think that would matter in this case, because gender wise she identifies as a female, and sex wise I'm assuming she's post-op which means she's anatomically female as well, so you'd get the same answer either way.

At least this way, no one will challenge you when youre seen licking your own package like you do now...

Bigotry is still alive and well, even in BC, a largely Liberal area of Canada... sad.

So, we should brand these humans, as if they were cattle, to identify them? However, on the other hand, I would be open to the idea of tattooing "Idiot or homophobe" across your forehead. It's only fair, as a precaution to others. A disclaimer, if you will.

If you couldn't care less, why would you even bother posting in this thread?

Do you think people that have had sex change operations should tell their partners about their alteration?

Try identifying with humans, perhaps you'll get a brain implant.

well what else are you gonna do? These people scare me, just the fact that you would want to change gender, then go through with it.. These surgerys should be illegal

You just don't relent, do you? You're a dog chasing its tail. Your entire outlook on life is based on one conceived notion that you're either a man, or a woman, and your sex determines your gender. It's not that transparent.

It's a simple question.

Is it wrong that I would find it disgusting if I ever had sex with someone only to find out afterward their birth name was Nicholas and not Nicole?

I'm sure there are transgendered people out there that keep this a secret, and I personally think it should be a crime

Just thought some people might find this interesting.

Although it's not quite this simple, especially with orientation you have to remember there's other types of orientation to those three main ones.

Many keep it a secret because of the unjust backlash they would face from the general public and short-minded people like yourself. They keep it a secret to have a better life, how do you eliminate that freedom from someone justly, simply because you want to know?

If you hooked up with a transgendered person and yet never found out about it, how would your life be different should you have discovered it? I would argue it wouldn't be... The only thing that would change would be that you wouldn't go to your beer swilling buddies and brag about it.

Forcing people to wear a badge or tattoo exclaiming this is the first step to much more serious freedom's being destroyed... What's next? Forcing gays to get a tattoo? What makes you better than them simply because you're straight? People with STD's legally have to disclose that to people prior to engaging in sexual activities because of the potential physical harm that could happen.... That is not the case here, how would knowing hurt you? Because you're afraid your friends would make fun of you? Grow up.

And yes, I realize arguing political views via the internet is a fruitless endeavour, however spreading hate speech like many conservatives do is just as pointless and stupid.

One could argue voting results do not show the political views of a population. In BC many people distrust the Liberal's leadership qualities and policies and vote Conservative based on that... Even if they don't believe in the same moral views...

Which from talking to many people who I know voted conservative, I know is true.

I have to be honest. I get uncomfortable around people dealing with transgendered stuff. I feel bad about it, but that's just how I feel.

None the less, if I was running the pageant, she would not have been kicked out.
Stuff like this should not an issue.
They deserve to live out their lives as normal in the gender they want to be identified as.
I'm willing to put aside how uncomfortable I feel, because I know what the right thing to do is.
It does not matter how I feel at all.
Who am I to treat them differently than any other human being?

I've never met a transgendered person (that I know of), but if I ever do, they would never be able to pick up on my phobia. Because they do not deserve to deal with it. I would treat them like everyone else.

On topic......

If Jenna Talackova lied on her entrance forms about being physically born a woman, then the pageant people do have the right to remove her from the contest. It's unfortunate and wrong, but if it's spelled out right there in the paperwork.........

According to Denis Davila, the national director of Miss Universe Canada, Talackova claimed on her registration form she was born a female.

Perhaps the question here should be that in the future, the question on the form should be worded differently to allow post-surgical transgendered people participation in the pageant(s).

I am honestly proud to call you guys forum mates. Seems there is some hope for humanity after all. Well done CDC! Newsflash, thank you for being honest. I met and know a transgendered woman. Very nice person, wonderful human being. Cute too. She is a teacher at one of the local colleges. Once you've heard her story, you understand and sympathize, then accept. She is now married and very happy, and I couldn't be happier for her. :towel:

This is probably a stupid question, but if someone could answer if these women go on their period or can give birth or not?

Is this sex change purely for aesthetic reasons, or is wanting to experience things only women experience also a part of it - things like, that time of month and child birth?

The surgical alterations from men to female are purely anatomical. Ovaries and a uterus are required for menstruation and birth and men are not born with these organs. Hormone therapy can only do so much but cannot kick off menstruation/ovulation in a body that has no organs for it to happen.

I suppose one day someone will perfect transplants enough to give trangendered men these organs (ovaries/uterus) but as far as I'm aware, such a thing does not yet exist in today's medicine.

So, since a bunch of you think this "woman" should be allowed in the contest, why shouldn't a regular looking dude be allowed to join in the competition, assuming he thinks of himself as being a woman.

Hear me out here. Many women are flat chested,(like many men), and some do have short hair and sparse facial hair. Even though this guy hasn't had the surgery yet, by your logic, he should be allowed to compete in this pageant because in his mind he thinks he's actually a woman. If you say he shouldn't be allowed, then perhaps you should re-evaluate your original position.

Thanks BB.

Since the beauty pageant is purely aesthetic, I don't see why not these women can't compete, but for other things I would not classify these women as women. They should tick off themselves as "male". Personally, I don't support these sex-change operations, I find them... my words cannot describe... but I understand they can do whatever they want to do as they aren't harming anyone (except perhaps themselves).
