avelanch Posted March 26, 2012 Share Posted March 26, 2012 timing/rhythem is half of singing, if you can't get that (which she clearly chose not to do, which was not stylistic choice, it was an idiotic one) then you can't really say she sang it well or can sing outside of opera. hell if she tried elongating he notes like that in an opera she would have screwed up everyone else too, since she clearly wouldn't have been keeping time with the conductor/band/other singers. maybe that was her problem... she didn't have a conductor there to help her keep time. But honestly, her performance was.... so unbelievably ridiculous I don't even know what to say. She was so full of herself I couldn't help but cringe the whole time. And how on earth did she expect people to sing along? Horrible. As a side note, the girl who sings the anthems for the Whitecaps games is awesome.
