LA win -Style of play has changed and we are trying to win any way we can win them-bringing in Sammy Pahlsson we have a shut down line.

We are going to have to win lower scoring games.

Coaches and players have gotten around the rules and we have to recognise it-use of hands instead of sticks.Players are as good as they are because they figure it out.

We have to be tight defensively to win these games.

Yes,we have changed our game grudgingly-opportunity for momentum shifts is really good for hockey.

It is a fluid sport and we have to change with it.

I did not have to take input from Alain to come to this conclusion. We are a tight knit group and we talk about hockey, watch hockey all the time.

I get annoyed when I hear people say we don't win the right way. There are no points for style.

We have to learn how to win one goal games.

It is a long season and we have played a lot of hockey along with ups and downs in a long season.

We have focused on the playoffs for a long time-6,7 weeks- but now we are moving in the right direction.

Spoke to Daniel today, looks good, not a lot to report.Moving in the right direction.

Keith ruling:If it is the right message the infraction leaves the game.

Tripping on icing calls--players adapt and if the right message gets sent to players they will adapt and change their behaviour.

Andrew Ebbett-out there today and practising with contact.Very close to coming back

Keith-concussions are very different.Keith has to be 100% and we have to be very certain.

Any second concussions ,repeat concussions are very dangerous.

Byron has been quite sick.Hoping he feels better. We only have four call ups.

Schroeder-I have a feeling.......we have no centre ice opportunities now.

Kevin C-same story.Deserves some time up here but with the four recalls we have to be very careful.

Raymond-we never lost our confidence in his abilities.

Mason cares abut his game and is a good team mate.He is going to get results.

We are happy with his results.

College front-we are active and successful. We have targetted certain players.

We are trying to get the best players that fit with our organisation.

Stan Smyl is good at it and we will try to get those players.

Thanks for the summary!

Not surprising that they're pursuing college players. With a lack of high draft picks and a pretty shallow talent pool on the farm, the only way to ensure that we have good players in our system for the future is to scout at the college level and hope that we find more diamonds in the rough like we did with Tanev

I find that MG has been getting a little whiney of late with regards to officiating. We had so many PP's against the Avs and most were undeserved and yet we still couldn't cash in. I don't think he should be making excuses for our lack of offense. We can't sit and wait for PP's before we score goals. Knowing that the officials are being stingy in calling things, we should be working to be a better 5 on 5 team.

No excuses!!

The playoffs are going to be a lot harder this year. With a lot longer series

Look at who we have upfront. Kesler, Burrows, Booth, Higgins, Raymond, and 1 Sedin. I can't see us scoring more than 2 goals a game, especially with the way our PP is going, just brutal...

We are going to really depend on guys like Pahlsson, Malhotra, Hansen, Lapierre, and our entire Defence to really shutdown our opponents. We can't allow more than 2 goals a game, or we'll be screwed.

I agree.Without the addition of a PP specialist on D this team has regressed on the PP,especially and also even strength play.

Sami is good but we know the story.Edy is good but he is inconsistent for periods on the PP.

Bieksa can be a defensive liability at times.Hamhuis is great but is no PP specialist.

There is potential there from the young guys but the team has no standout like Christian when he played with the Twins.

We do have one of, if not the, highest scoring defences in the league.

Anyone have some stats on that?

Included;

Edler 46 points

Bieksa 42 points

Hamhuis 33 points...

And why all the concern over forwards; Burrows has a high of 35 goals and four twenty goal seasons. Kesler a high of 42 & 5 twenty goal seasons. Henrik is a former league top scorer. Higgins & Raymond have 4 twenty goal seasons between them.

I am on record, and have not changed my mind, that we would have been better to have kept Hodgson & got a rental for a physical defender. I think Bitz was going to be just as good for us this year as Kassian. Hodgson would have been a distinct advantage, but even without Daniel we have lots of scoring. We can live till at least round two...

i don't really get this they don't play right thing. Ya sure a large number of the games are pretty boring...but it's an 82 game season (if they want better games they should knock of 10 to 20 regular season games). If you look at it carefully the Canucks probably have 3 or 4 of the top 10 games all year (Boston, the two Detroit games and Chicago maybe). It's all about how important the game is and who it's against.

Question here: does the 4 call up limitation count during the playoffs? If I remember properly, we called up Bolduc, Tanev, Oreskovich, Volpatti, Baumgartner, and Hodgson during the playoffs (not all of them played though)

How does the rule work out?
