You may have missed it, but there is some suggestion that there might be a "free" buyout in the new CBA, which would allow teams to basically dump one salary with no ongoing cap issues. This was done once before, I believe.

Lou had a much better season last year and fewer ups and downs than this year. lou won;t put his critics to bed until he has a stellar post season...nothing else will be good enough. Lou has to find consistancy, the same consistancy that Schneider is showing now.

Lou is showing good form now, lets hope it continues !

Umm...hell no? Why would we want to buy him out? He's by far THE BEST GOALIE the Canucks have ever had!!! Him and Schneids of course, but if it wasnt for him, in last years playoffs, we would not have made it so far. And also, wthe fact we had Hoffa, and Torres...so ya. But really, he's been the best goalie we've ever had in Canucks history, aside from captain Kirk, but really, think about it. With cloutier we didn't go far, hedberg same thing, raycroft and labarbera, not far at all, but with Lu and Schneids, far, real far!! So ya, Why the heck would we buy out Lu? Wow people...
