Wanna see Kes have a couple of beast games

Agreed, thing I like about Kes is that even when he is not scoring I seem to notice him, I think he will against the flames tomorrow, they must be gutted and have been playing like a bunch of hobos in hockey gear for the past two weeks anyways.

CMON GUYS HAVE SOME FAITH! WE ARE GOING TO WIN. ANYONE CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT IF THEY WANT. YOULL SEE

There was a moment after Dallas tied it that I did wonder how the Canucks would win this one. Cory Schneider was rock solid, as usual, ho hum. He's completely unflappable. Higgins starts the offense again, and don't look now but Henrik Sedin was working his magic tonight. I liked the casual-looking take-back after he'd lost the puck, and after Max Lapierre took the hit and gave it back, he sets up Andrew Alberts for their third goal. Dallas looked like a beaten team late in the third, and the Canucks could have had a couple more, especially Mason Raymond- would have loved to see him bury that chance.

A pretty bold statement.....wow you must have a crystal ball that works. Prepare to get flamed.
I like Schneider too but Luongo has played great lately and looks ready for the playoffs.

Schneider kept the Canucks in the game in the first period --as the announcers pointed out. He is playing great hockey. The key to winning a Stanley Cup is usually having a hot goalie (See: Thomas, Tim).) Both Luongo and Schneider should get a chance to play and if either one gets hot (or continues hot, I should say) that is the guy to go with.

No one -- not Luongo or Schneider -- has property rights on the #1 spot.

Nice to see Lapierre play a good game. And both Kassian and Gragnani were better.

Kesler got a point but did not have a good game. Raymond also struggled, although he came close in the last few seconds.

And Hamhuis and Tanev continue to be lights out as a shutdown pairing. I would keep them together in the playoffs.

The whole team played great. That is the key. Sure there were mistakes on the 2 goals against us, but we played a smart game. Glad to see our progress!

I dug the hell out of Shniederman tonight no doubt, and Laps was a skating brick wall. Aside from everything else Higgins is really getting his groove on lately, and it's right on time. And of course, Sedin pockets 3 points on the night with his usual brilliant psychic-hotline passes. Guess the worm is turning back around for our top guys. About time.

They needed a win like this, not just for the whining and moaning about low offensive tallies, but also for their own peace of mind IMO. This game was right on time for a lot of reasons.

Here's hoping this trend continues.

As some have mentioned, it's also great to see Tanev make that leap to NHL regular D-man right before our eyes. With the injuries on D, he has jumped into top shutdown pairing minutes with Hamhuis and hasn't looked out of place. That's called a play making the leap. He's also shown he's willing to block shots and do the little stuff. It's a lot to hope for but I hope we have our own Dan Girardi in Tanev. Both are undrafted college D-men who are good skaters and stalwart defensive players.

Defensive play in the first was terrible as was the pp. Again, Schnieds holds the fort, allows the team to find itself, some HUGE saves. Lou would have lost...kid is proving he's the one to go with in the Cup run, going to be a contraversy by the end of it....Even the commentators in the break were saying its not such an easy decision who to keep, and these guys are 'hockey guys' ...

Regardless, great to see them find some goals, Higgy stays Jiggy, Henrik finding his game, love that MayRay was going to try the lacrosse move at the end, shows he's gaining some confidence...

All in all a good 40 mins, 20 mins not so much, but its pretty hard to beat a brick wall....Kid is unbelievable

Oh I didn't know being a canuck fan for 30 years means you have to think Luongo is a better goalie than Schneider and/or the best goalie in the world...that you can have your own opinion unless its contrary to yours or self appointed 'real fans'...

I get it now your highness..I see we all have to agree with blind people...

ok sir...you're right sir, Luongo is better sir, his stats are better sir, i'm sorry sir you're right sir...

lol... someone always manage to take a shot at Luongo regardless... might as well not play Luongo ever again coz he'll be "lost" despite how well he is playing and you can apparently predict what will happen...

Where did I ever compare the two or say anything about either goalie. I am a fan of both goalies and of this team so I have no biased opinion unlike yourself. This is a pgt of the game tonight. A game in which Luongo didn't play and Schneider played well. Yet your troll mentality comes in to it immediately stating Luongo would've lost this one with no evidence whatsoever besides your asinine opinion.

Nice to see the Nucks score some goals tonight.

They had trouble earlier in the season, but it looks like they are back to their routine of airing out Lehtonen.

Next up: Lighting up Kipper like a Christmas tree (unless they start that giant backup they have who never plays)

this is why i shaked my head at those Canuck fans that cheered on the fLames to make the playoffs... that fan base is stupid as f thats the fan base that still to this day are convinced Alberts faked going down for a call on hit on that McGrattan hit that sent him to retirement.

I hated that fan base since 04 and will forever hate them. they have such a huge inferiority complex about our team and the city/province. I hope we dispose of these losers quickly.

Oh for Pete's sake, all of your posts are a pile on of your initial comment stating "lou would've lost"...This is the PGT, Luo wasn't playing tonight, Cory was great in goal.....is it possible for you to comment on any other aspect of tonight's game......give it a try, after 30 years you must be able to come up with something brilliant....other than Cory's goaltending.

It looked rough early, but Schneids kept them in it (as usual). There's a reason you rarely see negative comments about Lappy on CDC or in the papers. He quietly does his job every night. It's great to see a guy like him get rewarded for being such a reliable hard working guy. Want to see that line stay together till Danny gets back. Tanev is simply amazing, I can never say enough about this guy.

The bad: Kesler. If you see him in la la land, tell him the seasons almost over. You're leading scorer is out, and he's had 1 assist (and is -1) in all those games!?! Quite frankly, I am sick of this guy getting 20 TOI a night and doing nothing with it. There are other guys in the lineup who are doing 'their jobs' and could eat up his minutes. It's time to man up, earn your big pay check and eat that humble pie. I don't need to name off the stats of his 'season to forget', but the playoffs are around the corner and he continues to take a long look in the mirror.

Does anyone have a link to that funny Dallas fan incident (Steve Ott look-a-like)? That was hilarious! 5 wins in a row! woot woot!

I don't

I don't hate loungo friend, I don't hate anyone, its a game. I am stating a view that Schnieds is the better goalie, he shows it every night, including the rock star performance he put on again tonight. That every start he is providing more reason why we should keep him over lou for the reasons i mentioned.

Why people go into hissy fits because someone says we have a better young player waiting in the wings I don't know. I can't get into the heads of these immature children.

All I am doing is stating my opinion. If someone gets violently angry because they have a poster of their hero on their wall, its not me trolling. Its me just stating my views, which is the purpose of this board.

Maybe it was because you took a shot at Luongo for no reason and if you say you didn't, you're either delusional or immature. :sadno:

I suggest you should just admit that you made one inadequate statement "Lou would've lost" that offended a lot of Nucks fans. Live and learn. I saw on the previous posts that even a Schneids homer had to disagree with you on that statement. Like it or not, we're having a goalie tandem heading into playoffs. A true fan should root for either one to win, regardless of their stats. It's a sports fan club here, not a school's debating club.

Two shutouts in a row and now a 5-2 spanking, 5 game win streak now... and still our fans find so many silly things to complain about.

Our defense has been rock solid the last three games at the very least. People can mention how we were outshot by huge margins or whatever.. it doesn't matter. The thing is those chances are mostly coming from along the boards or from the point. Our guys are making a point of NOT blocking the shots, so that they don't get injured right now. Our goaltenders are solid for sure, but by letting them save these easy shots from the outside and making sure the rebounds are cleared (and the Canucks have been doing an excellent job clearing rebounds) they build our goalies confidence and get them in the zone early.

Then we just wait for the other team to make mistakes, and capitalize. We played a couple where the other team didn't make many mistakes, and we had to settle for 1-0 wins with stellar defensive play and goaltending. That won't always be the case, tonight is evidence of that.

and if you are still not happy with their play, then at least be happy with the wins.
