Booth had to second lowest ice time only to Zack Kassian tonight.

It's obviously a delicate matter trying to rejuvenate a struggling player, but reducing ice time for a key player like Booth doesn't feel like the right solution

It might be time for Booth to play with other linemates other than Kesler or Raymond for a while. Three players that don't pass will get easier to stop as a playoff series goes longer.

The win streak is great, but we can't assume the powerplay (that's another matter) and second line will suddenly start clicking once the playoffs start. It's not as if the opposing teams will play at the same level as now. And there's Raymond.

Raymond obviously has to be scratched every other game to be effective.

Honestly, I have no idea what's wrong with the second line. On paper, Raymond's actually the most productive of that line, and that worries the heck out of me.

I say who cares what they do for two more games.

If they perform like this in first couple of games In the post season then the coaches should do something.

Vancouver is a kind of like a dumping ground for bad contracts from the Panthers.

If it still is during the playoffs, then I would start getting worried.

Let Booth and Kassian wing Henrik and let him work his magic.

Booth-Henrik-Kassian
Burrows-Kesler-Lapierre
Higgins-Pahlsson-Hansen

Hopefully, this revives Kes, Booth, and Kassian's games, and Higgins can bear some of the scoring load in the meantime

Booth (Speed) - Hank (Playmaker) - Kassian (PWF who can win battles and get puck to neck, also not slow)

But then again Im not the coach. This would be such a boss line on NHL12 though

Laapy is way better then kassian and turning into quite the gritty power forward imo..getting a bit of a scoring touch as of late..it reminds me of when kes n burr first started playing for us...

As we've seen no matter who's on that second line, if Kes isn't going, neither is that line.

The simple solution would be to bump Higgins up to the second line, but he's been playing way too well on the third line to do that. So that would be a dumb move.

Lets just hope that when Danny comes back we can put Lapierre on the second line and he'll be a fit.

This, then clone Hank and Dank too then our lines can be

Sedin Sedin Higgins
Sedin Sedin Higgins
Sedin Sedin Higgins
Sedin Sedin Higgins

Instant cup!

It's funny that we've never actually tried that line all season.

You would think that Higgy would be a natural fit with the twins. It could be a dominant line, but I think Higgins is needed more on the third line. He's beasting going up against other teams weaker D pairings. He might even make teams reconsider who they put their shutdown line up against.

Yeah, Higgins is such a bad contract, and we gave WAY TOO much up for him. I mean what does he do for us? He can't score, hit or defend. I mean, when was the last time anyone said anything good about him.

Higgins should be on the 2nd line. Kesler and Booth need him to score more than Pahlsson and Hansen do. We don't need our 3rd line carrying our offence, the 2nd line desperately needs to chip in because Kesler is far from his usual self and cannot carry this line anymore.

People are blaming Booth right now but Kesler has been one of our worst forwards over the last 7 games, an absolutely horrible game especially against the Ducks. He needs to play more defensively and get back to his old game as opposed to trying to make pretty offensive plays just because he's being backed up by Pahlsson.

Not too long ago booth was the best player on the team night in and night out but I think since Higgins got moved off the line, he lost a lot of his scoring chances as well. I do agree that Kesler had not done much in the ducks game. I dont think I really recalled him having any scoring chances even strength

And on a serious note, I expect Booth to turn it on in a big way in the playoffs. I am a bit worried actually that the rest of the team is starting to peak a bit early.

Ya I agree... Maybe AV thinks he is a bad drug. You are down so you take it, get on an amazing high (play well), then as soon as it goes away you do even worse! He doen't want to hook the Sedins haha.

I really want Av to just stick Kassian on the 2nd until he clicks.

he clearly can't go with manny or henrik. Might as well try kesler for as long as can be

3 words...

Daniel - Kesler - Booth

(and re-unite the Sedins on the PP)

This would give both top lines a gifted passer/playmaker, and would help combat the Sedins getting pushed around.

Henrik seems to be enjoying having his own line, I'm sure Daniel would too.

ok. anyone want to take this dead horse from me now, I broke my beating stick :bigblush:

Injuries has certainly a great part in the struggling. The funny thing is that we got them injuries when the season barely has started.

ps... sorry LiveeviL. I had to do this.

why should they be busting a$$ when the games don't mean anything? These aren't the only players coasting right now, it is happening all over the league. Don't even watch the last few games and get ready for the playoffs.
