Atheist Students Encourage Christians To Exchange Their Bibles For…Pornography

What atheist community? There are many. Unlike Christians and Muslims, we don't share any more in common than our lack of belief in a god or gods. That's it. We could be conservatives, far right Republicans, utilitarianists, and communists. Nor do we all come to atheism by virtue of our intelligence, though plenty seem to.

I agree, in a sense it is juvenile, but it's also provocative and not harmful. In fact it seems to be a fair trade, shed shackles of religious conservatism for earthly pleasures today! Could be worse, they could be like Christians, burning holy books or something. ;)

Gee, I didn't realize Safeway, Starbucks, Audi, etc., are all religions...

I think this is why words have meanings, so we don't confuse different things with each other by virtue of a single similar quality - in this case being a group of like-minded people being called a religion.

"The event caused an uproar on campus in 2008 and made headlines around the world. But this year, few students took notice. During the four hours Atheist Agenda members spent next to their signs each day, only about 30 people stopped by to get information about the club or start a debate. [...]"

You see it has lost it's "shock value".. They need to give out food or contraceptives next year and it bet it will be a big hit as college kids are easy that way.

I believe I stated the context in my post you quoted... See, you're saying atheists in a group are just like religion, yet the only commonality is both being groups of people. You are wrong in your statement, plain and simple.
