If Detroit can split the first 2 games at Nashville I say Detroit wins in 6 or 7, Detroit needs to win one of those first road games to build up their road confidence because the regular season road record for Detroit is mediocre and Nashville can be a tough building to play in.

I can't figure this one out, on one hand, Nashville has upgraded significantly, they finally have 2 good scoring lines but Detroit is still Detroit.

I think this one's going 7 with a slight edge to Detroit because of their experience and top end talent and Rinne hasn't looked like Rinne lately, he has given up 4 or more goals 5 times in the last month or so.

Wings in 7

5 reasons to fear the Predators

There are plenty of reasons for the Red Wings to be concerned as they enter the NHL postseason, most notably their opponent. The Wings, seeded fifth in the Western Conference, take on the fourth-seeded Predators.

Here is a look at a few of the challenges the Predators will pose:

Rinne among the elite

Pekka Rinne could play small forward in the NBA at 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds. Most tall goaltenders don't move in the crease well, but Rinne dispels that myth. "With his size, his ability to move, and the way he can play pucks behind the net, it's pretty impressive,"Red Wings D Niklas Kronwall said. "He's been pretty amazing."

Powerful power play

The Predators had the No. 1 power play in the league with a 21.6 percent success rate. It doesn't hurt to have D Shea Weber on the point. "He has a bomb," Red Wings D Niklas Kronwall said of Weber's shot. But there are several other threats — Alex Radulov , Martin Erat , Patrick Hornqvist and David Legwand , among others

Defense suits Weber-Suter

Shea Weber and Ryan Suter is arguably the best defensive pairing in the NHL. And they're on the ice a lot. "They play a lot of minutes, that's one of their strengths," Red Wings F Henrik Zetterberg said. "At the same time you can't let them off the hook. You have to be on them and be physical every chance you get against them." Weber is the Norris Trophy favorite, and Suter could be a finalist.

Radulov packs punch

Alex Radulov left for Russia several seasons ago in a contract dispute, but returned after the trade deadline this season, once his Russian contract expired. Radulov had seven points (three goals) in nine games. "He has a lot of skill and he plays with a lot of energy," Red Wings F Jiri Hudler said

Home sweet home

The Predators are the only team in the NHL to post at least 23 home victories seven consecutive seasons. They won 26 this season and ended on a 21-5-2 run. "It's a loud building and lot of fun to play in," Red Wings D Niklas Kronwall said. "They feed off that crowd. The first 10 minutes are always important."
